Madeline Jane Vance is the best baby there is. She looks like the perfect mix between me and Silas with dark hair and bright green eyes, but she’s sweet as can be. We call her Maddy for short and though her birth was one for the books she’s been a pretty normal baby at least as far as I can tell. We won’t know until her first birthday at least what shifter traits she might have or if she has both like Franny suspects. No matter what we will love her and guide her the best we can.

As much as I enjoyed my time as a stripper, Ruby and I have decided to open up an exercise/dance studio in town, specializing in working the pole. The money might not be as good as taking my clothes off for strangers, but it will be better for my family. I’ll still get to dance like I love, and my mates won’t have to worry about my safety. Ruby will get to be home with her girls more, it’s a win-win for all of us. It will be months before we open, but I have already had a few she-wolves show interest in signing up, hopefully that's a good sign for the future of our yet to be named studio.

No one on our side was seriously injured the night of the fight, but the whole Black Coven was taken out except for the children and the one teen no one can seem to find. Hopefully she’ll surface soon wanting help, but if not then let’s hope she at least doesn’t make trouble. I would have liked to have seen the witches get their just deserts but having Maddy in my arms everyday, that seems to matter less and less.

Instead of dragging all the kids to Sunset Peak to see Scarlett, Dell’s other mates brought her here along with her son and Sam. Meeting that whole group really was something. They all have very different personalities, it’s a strange mix but it works for them. I don’t know how my friend manages six mates but I’m good with the four that I have, two more and I might rip my hair out.

Something of a miracle happened when Scarlett was here. Between Franny and Level they were able to break the curse and give that sweet girl the one thing she wanted most in the world. A voice. So many tears were shed as she looked at Sam and told him she loved him. That sealed it for her and she now lives with Sam and Alec permanently.

As much as Dell struggled with it she ended up taking in a small blonde girl Mimi and a little brown haired boy Milo, brother and sister. Her mates didn’t even blink when she said she was growing their family. They have plans to expand their house and make room for everyone soon.

The rest of the kids surprisingly were taken in by pack members growing our pack even more. The wolves adjusted really well to the pack being home to more than wolves and I have to say I’m actually really proud to be part of this family now. The witch children are happy and fed and we have Tag, one of Dell’s mates coming up once a month to work with them on their magic. We are hoping the good influence will help keep them on the straight and narrow.

Remy’s body was found in the ashes of the house mangled but not from the fire itself. The witches really did a number on him before they killed him. Since there was no way to know whether he betrayed us or he was captured we decided to go ahead and bury him as part of the pack and send his soul properly into the universe. I think that really made the pack pay attention seeing the Alpha treat one of the biggest pain in the ass members as cherished and missed.

Mila, who was tied up in her room during the fight, per Silas, left at the end of last month heading to Seattle to start her own adventure with the Foxes that Dell set her up with. Maddy and I miss her Godmother/Auntie Mila and her big mouth but I’m also really proud of my friend for following her heart. She deserves it. Though I do expect that she’ll get herself into trouble soon enough, especially working at Club Zed, in Spooksville. The rumors of that place are enough to know trouble is always on the horizon.

“What are you thinking about, kitten?” Dar asks as we laze about as a family in the big bed in Silas’ room. Our house is coming along nicely out back. It was a decision we made together when my cougar refused to leave the room for the first few days with the baby. We’ll still visit the pack house often but we need our own home that isn’t a bedroom. That way Darius can feel safe to drink and not let himself get sick.

We actually tried cutting the skin and letting him drink that way without sinking his fangs in to see if the person would still pass out. Though it was still very sexual and he could give you the best orgasm, you no longer fell asleep right after. Best way to do it with a baby around so we could all pitch in.

“I’m just thinking about how much our life has changed in a short amount of time but I wouldn’t change it for the world,” I tell him and he smiles brightly.

My vampire mate is very happy these days not only because he loves our new family where they just accept him for who he is. He and Bellamy are slowly working everything out and getting to know each other in a more intimate way. Hell, all my guys are getting to know each other well in the bedroom. Dell was very right that it’s amazing to see them care for each other like that. And damn hot too. Dar is also very happy though because Vikrim decided to stay in town to ‘court Ruby’, he’s a crazy guy but I adore him and it’s nice for Dar to have his friend close.

“Isn’t it such a great life we found ourselves in,” he says, kissing Maddy’s head as she lays on my chest.

For so long I was a stray, no home, no family, no hope, but somehow the universe helped me find my way home and I couldn’t be more grateful.
