“Hi,” he said with a smile. He really was handsome. One of the reasons she’d allowed him to get close to her in the first place.
“Hello,” she said, forcing herself to smile back.
“I’m sorry about this. I know it’s uncomfortable. All I can tell you is I can’t do anything about it. And as much as I hate to say it, if you try to get away or attack me, the other women will be hurt. Do you understand?”
She nodded, not trusting herself to speak. How could he threaten her like that and still think they were going on some kind of nice date? He must be insane. Of course, that would explain everything. He was crazy. And that meant she couldn’t control him or trust anything he said.
She had to remember she had one job—make him think Alex was the woman he was looking for.
He held out his hand. “Good. Now come with me. I promise you’ll enjoy yourself. I won’t hurt you, and I’m not going to molest you. You’re completely safe with me. You’ll be returned to your room tonight in exactly the same shape you were in when you arrived here. Do you understand?”
“Yes.” She put her hand in his even though touching him made her want to throw up. Then she stood and let him lead her away from the patio.
She steeled herself for the next few hours. Her intention was to get this over with and get back to her cell. Hopefully, this night was the beginning of the end for this guy and his friend Andy.
And it couldn’t happen quickly enough.
