“What?” he asked around a mouthful of foam.
“Married?”
He pulled his toothbrush out of his mouth. “Like I’m not going to lock you down after I told you I love you? Please.” He disappeared back into the bathroom and I nearly fell off the bed in my rush to follow him.
I couldnothave this conversation naked. I opened the bedside drawer and found socks and underwear. Finally, in the bottom one, he had some undershirts. I slipped one on and followed him into the bathroom.
He was already in the shower.
I swung the door open. “You cannot just say ‘when we get married’ like that and just get in the shower, Ransom Isaac Douglas!”
He turned around, squinting his eyes against the shampoo in his hair. “I regret the fact that you now know my full name.” He ducked his head under the rain shower hood and all the bubbles slid down his exceptional body.
Focus, Willow.
“In or out, Chaos.”
I flipped the shirt off and stepped in. “You want to marry me? What if I don’t want to marry you?”
He hooked his slippery arms around my waist and pulled me against his warm, still slightly soapy chest. I pushed my wet hair out of my eyes.
“You know you want to marry me.”
I tipped back my head to get the rest of my hair wet before moving just outside the usually delicious deluge of water. “Maybe I want to be asked.”
He grinned as he stood under the water. “Maybe I’ll ask you later.”
I launched myself at him and he laughed as he crowded me into the smooth stone wall. Then he went down on his knees with the water beating down behind him.
He lifted my leg over his shoulder as he kissed the inside of my thigh. “Willow Renee Doyle, will you,” he kissed higher, “spend the rest,” he lapped along my center, “of your life with me?”
I started laughing as I leaned back, then there was no laughing. Just his intense eyes looking up at me as he circled my clit and sucked hard, driving me crazy with that mouth of his. Then he stopped.
“I didn’t hear a yes.”
I pulled his hair. “You are the worst.”
His eyes were full of light and the blue outmatched the gray as he dragged his softly bearded chin against me. “Say yes, Chaos.”
“Yes.”
“That’s right.” He nipped my inner thigh and stood to hook my legs around him, then drove up into me in one slick, perfect stroke. “Forever.”
I wrapped myself around him, arms, legs, and heart. “Forever.”
He moved inside of me with firm thrusts, leaning back to lock his gaze with mine. I wanted it to last for a little longer, but the way he filled me and the love in his eyes pushed me over.
His jaw locked as I scraped my nails down his neck to his shoulders. His groan set me off again, and I swore I could feel him coming inside me, the warmth and the love he gave more than I’d ever expected in my life.
We ended up in a pile on the shower floor. I couldn’t help but laugh. “How are we going to tell our grandkids about this one?”
He laughed into my neck.
“Gram, how did Grandpa ask you to marry him?” I couldn’t stop giggling.
“We’ll figure it out.”
“At least you dropped to one knee.”
“Two. And I’m getting too old to do that.” He got up and pulled me with him.
“Aww, you’re not going to carry me?”
“I think you broke my back.”
I looped my arm around his neck and pushed him back under the warm water. “Let’s see if I can fix that.”
