Sebastian finally shifted behind me. Disappointment clouded my senses when I thought he was going to let me go.

But that wasn’t what happened. Instead, Sebastian bent down and scooped me up into his arms.

I squealed at the unexpectedness of it, then laughed at my silliness as I wound my arms around his neck.

“What are you doing?” I giggled.

I should have bit his neck, gone for the jugular. At least try to gouge his eyes out...

But that wasn’t going to happen...

“I’m taking you to bed,” he declared, striding from the patio like a conqueror with his prize.

“You’re going to carry me up those stairs?”

The staircase to the second floor was a bit windy and quite a workout for anyone carrying an extra one hundred and twenty pounds.

But Sebastian strode past the stairway and exited down a hall to its right.

He stopped outside two double doors and looked down at me.

“No. I’m taking you to my bed.”
