“It was eighteen hours longer than it should have been.” Soren looks up from the tablet in his hands and pins me with his blue eyes.

“Come.” Caiden gently guides me to a seat at a four-person dining table. “Let us make you a sandwich. Would you prefer tea or something else?”

“What time is it?”

“It’s a little after midnight.” He arches his brow as if he wants to ask me why and then decides against it.

“Do we have coffee?”

“Decaf?” Caiden and Reese exchange a look.

“No. Regular.” I know I should, but I don’t want to go to sleep. If closing my eyes for a couple seconds in the shower wreaked havoc on my subconscious, what is sleep going to do?

“Okay.” Reese nods, sliding his hand down his face. “I’ll make some coffee while Caiden makes you a sandwich. Meanwhile, you should call your sister and your father. Just to let them know you are safe.”

I bite my lip and nod, knowing he is right. “Okay.”
