 “I sure as fuck did,” I say, brushing my hand through my hair. “And that’s why I’m here. So, thanks for that.”
 
 “Don’t blame me for that! I would’ve told you to stay as far from Emily Maylor as possible. Even if I completely ignore the legality and ethics of it all, she’s a trigger for you!”
 
 “I know, I know.”
 
 “I can’t legally mandate you, but I’m begging you, Kevin. Please take up my offer for one-on-one sessions. There’s a lot to unpack here, for both of you.”
 
 “I said I’ll think about it,” I tell him, more firmly this time.
 
 He’s probably right. I have a whole bus of feelings I need to unload.
