“Move!” I beep frantically at the car that cuts in front of me as I swerve in and out of traffic like a lunatic. After what felt like the longest drive ever, I pull up at the church and run through the people scattered around and the paparazzi gathered outside the church.

“Look! There’s Shayla!” One of them shouts, snapping photos as I run through the crowd. “Shayla, are you here to stop the wedding?!”

“YES! MOVE!” I shout as I barge past them and race up the steps. They applaud and whistle as I race into the church and push the doors open and run in panting. Everyone turns and looks at me. I glance at the altar and see no Cole or Sophie. Oh no, I was too late. My heart sinks to the pit of my stomach.

“Shayla?” I lift my gaze and look at Cole’s mother. Tears spill down my cheeks, and she reaches up and wipes them away. “What are you doing here, sweetheart?”

“I’m too late,” I whisper sullenly, and she smiles, lifting my head so I could look at her.

“No, you’re not. Tristan left. He didn’t marry Sophie. He ran off to find you to stop you from leaving.” She tells me, and I blink, surprised, tears of joy streaming down my cheeks. “Go get him, honey.” I give her a watery smile, and she hugs me before I turn and run out of the church. God damn it, why did I break my sim card! I can’t even call him. I run into Josh, and he smiles, shaking his head when he sees me.

“You two are fucking bat shit crazy.”

“Where is he Josh, where did he go?” I ask in a flurry and Josh chuckles.

“He’s gone to your apartment to stop you from leaving. He left like ten minutes ago.” I nod and thank him before running out of the church again, ignoring the photographers screaming at me as I run to my car. He didn’t do it. He didn’t marry her. Oh God, I was feeling so many things I didn’t know which one to focus on. I drive back to my apartment and race up the steps as fast as my already shaking and tired legs would take me. I burst through the door and look around frantically. I look at Aimee, stuffing her face with cereal, and she frowns.

“Where’s Cole?!” I gasp breathlessly as I try to catch my breath.

“He left like five minutes ago to go back to the church to find you!”She shouts with a mouthful of cereal, sputtering milk everywhere.

“Son of a bitch!” I pant and run out of the apartment again. My mouth was dry, my heart was racing, and I was a sweaty mess running around the city trying to find him. Why wasn’t he staying put? For God's sake, my heart was about to give out on me. I run back to the church again, and the same people as before watch, bewildered as I race past them once more. I look around the church and see no sign of him. Where the hell was he? My head was spinning, and I was starting to see spots.

Josh laughs when he sees me again. “What the fuck are you two doing?”

“Please… tell me… he’s here.” I wail, and Josh shakes his head, grinning.

“No, he just left like two minutes ago thinking you’re waiting at your apartment.” I heave a sigh and shake my head.

“I can’t…I can’t breathe. Call him. I can’t run anymore. I can’t.”

“I would, but I’ve got his phone. He ran off in such a rush he left everything.” Josh tells me, and I groan before leaving the church and running back to my car again.

“Shayla?!” I spin around when I hear Cole calling my name. I search for him and see him sprinting toward me down the street. I sigh, relieved, close my car door and run to him. I leap into his arms, and he catches me, winding his arms around me tight and burying his face into my neck. “Oh, baby.” He pants breathless

“Oh my God,” I sob hysterically. We hold one another in the middle of the street without a care in the world who was watching. I pull my head back and look into his eyes; he smiles at me. His green eyes pooled with tears. “Cole, the baby isn’t yours. It’s Derricks.”

Cole nods, pressing his forehead to mine. “I know,” He pants. “He came and told me everything. She’s been fucking lying to me this whole time.” I sigh, thankful. “It’s over now, baby. Nothing will keep me from you ever again.” He declares lovingly, his fingers curling at my nape; he draws my lips to his and kisses me slow and deep. I moan, kissing him back with every bit of love I held in my heart for him.

We pull apart, and he looks into my eyes, his eyes alight with such joy it made my heart soar. “Marry me, Shay. Let’s go back to where it all began in Vegas with everyone we love and marry me again.” He says, and I look into his eyes, tears of absolute joy spilling down my cheeks. “What do you say, baby? Do you want to do this, do you want to be my wife again? For real this time.”

I nod, “More than anything.” Cole grins handsomely and presses his lip to mine again. His strong arms wrapped tightly around me as we kiss in the middle of the street like two idiots undeniably and madly in love.
