The next morning,I woke up alone in bed. I look around and lean up on my elbow; I see Shayla standing in front of the window wearing my shirt and nothing else. It was so big on her; it was hanging off one shoulder. I slip out of bed and stroll over to her. I wrap my arms around her from behind and nuzzle her neck. “Good morning, sweetheart.”

Shayla smiles, wrapping her arms over mine and rests her head on mine. “Good morning, baby.”

“Why are you up so early?” I mumble, kissing along her jaw, and she sighs, closing her eyes.

“I couldn’t sleep.” She bites her lip, looking ahead again. “I feel like I’m in a dream, and I’m terrified I’m going to wake up at any moment, and things will be back to how they were.” She whispers sadly, and I turn her around to face me.

I cup her face with my hands and gaze into her beautiful eyes, “It’s not a dream, baby. I’m still madly in love with you.” I assure her, and she smiles.

“Something happens to my heart when you say that.” She sighs contently, placing her hands on my chest. I reach down and lift her hand off my chest and bring her fingers to my lips. I kiss them and press them over my heart.

I press my forehead to hers, “You’re locked away in my heart, baby; there’s no getting you out of there now.” I tell her solemnly.

“And you’re locked away in mine.” She replies, pushing up on her tiptoes; she kisses me softly. Goddamn, I don’t think it’s possible to feel happier than I do right now.

“As much as I’d love to take you back to bed and make love to you all over again, we have to prepare for the meeting,” I murmur against her lips, and she smiles.

“Mmk.” She sighs, snaking her arms around my neck and kissing me deeply. I moan and pull her against me, my fingers already unbuttoning the shirt she had on while we kiss heatedly.

“Mm, maybe a quick one then.” I groan and lift her into my arms, carrying her over to the bed and lay her down on it before I crawl up, and she pulls me down by my chain and kisses me hot and hungry. The quick sex session ended up lasting for forty-five minutes, however hard I tried too we just couldn’t stop, and we got utterly lost in one another and had to rush to get ready for the meeting. Luckily, the Arabs were running late, and we had time to catch up before the meeting. “They might request more floors, so I thought we could go wider here. What do you think?” I suggest, and Shayla looks at the tablet, her eyes narrowed.

She nods thoughtfully.

“That will work, we could add a shaft right here, and that should improve the stability.” She replies, nibbling on her pencil. I watch her, and she lifts her gaze to mine and smirks. “What?”

“I love you,” I whisper, leaning to kiss her, but she presses the pencil to my forehead and pushes my head back.

“I love you, but we can’t do that here.” She says, looking around to make sure no one was watching. I groan, displeased, and lean back in my chair while she continues to work. Ten minutes later, the Arabs arrived, and we started the meeting. I was right in assuming they would want more floors, so we agreed to seventy-nine levels, and they were happy.

“Excellent, where do we sign?” I look at Shayla, who was gaping at them, eyes wide and her lips parted.

“My lawyers have drawn up the papers with all the changes initially requested by yourselves. If you sign right here,” I hand him the pen, and he signs each page. I sign it also and hold the pen to Shayla. Our eyes meet, and I nod at her, silently assuring her it’s okay. She inhales deeply and signs the contract for her first billion-dollar project. We shake hands, and they leave happy.

“I can’t believe it. This is really happening, isn’t it?” She asks, stunned, and I nod, leaning on the table beside her. I discreetly brush my fingers over hers.

“It sure his, sweetheart. This one is just the first of many projects we’re going to build together.” I tell her, and she smiles up at me, her eyes alight with delight, I wanted to kiss her so bad, but we’d get ourselves arrested if someone reports us.

“So, are we done with work?” Shayla asks, and I nod, closing my laptop.

“We sure are, now we go out and celebrate your achievement,” I tell her as we walk out of the conference room. “What do you want to do?”

Shayla looks at me with a wicked grin, “We are going to make the best of Dubai, baby. Come on.” She chirps excitedly and pulls me along with her.

The first placewe went after we changed our formal wear into more comfortable clothes was the desert. “Sand dunning?” I ask incredulously, and she pulls her shades down and looks at me with a grin.

“Cole, please don’t tell me you’ve come to Dubai on many occasions and haven’t explored the fun things you can do here?” She questions and I shrug, shaking my head.

“I didn’t have time. I was only here for work; I flew back right away.” I explain, looking around the desert. It was so hot out I was sweating.

“Oh honey, allow me to rectify that.” She says, climbing into the open-top jeep and motioning me to get in. I jump in beside her, and the jeep speeds off. I didn’t think driving in a hot desert over dunes would be that fun, but once again, Shayla proved me wrong. Shayla holds onto the metal bar and stands up as the jeep speeds down the desert. I watch her as she lifts her arms in the air, eyes closed, her head tilted back, the biggest smile on her face while the wind blows her hair backward. “Baby, come up here.” She calls out to me. I pull myself up and wrap my arms around her waist as we drive through the desert. After that, I convinced her to ride a camel with me, and she was indecisive at first but agreed and ended up loving it.

“I thought Casper smelt bad.” She mumbles, wrinkling her nose. I laugh and shake my head.

“Hey, you leave my baby alone. He doesn’t smell at all.” I scold her playfully, and she shrugs, resting her chin on my shoulder.
