I sigh with a smile shaking my head as I pull my hair up in a messy bun. After I got home, I told the girls about my exchange with the witch. "I am not explaining it all over again. I basically put her in her place and told her if she keeps pissing me off, I'll steal Cole back from her just out of spite."
"Yes! That is my bitch right there!" Aimee exclaims, excitedly throwing her popcorn in the air, and it falls around her. "Oh, damn." She utters, looking at the mess she made.
Jo and I laugh and throw the popcorn at her. "That was a long-time coming, Shay, and we're proud of you, baby girl." Jo praises me with a hug, and I smile, sighing.
"Heck yes, it was. Who the fuck does she think she is? Prissy little bitch. Can I beat her for you, please?" Aimee asks, giving me the puppy eyes and pressing her hands together like a child.
I laugh and shake my head. "As much as I would love to see that, no, you can't because we are not going to stoop to her level. I honestly cannot see what a guy like Cole saw in her for the life of me. She's rotten, and how he can’t see that, I just...it baffles me." I explain, leaning back against the sofa and rub my stomach when I feel the baby move. "Steering away from the subject, we really need to build that crib we bought before she comes."
"No time like the present. I'm sure we can figure it out. We are three intelligent women, after all." Jo says, helping me off the sofa, and we all walk to my bedroom and stare at the cardboard box and then at each other.
"Josh?" Aimee mutters, turning her blue eyes to look at me, and I nod with a sheepish smile.
"Good call." Jo nods, lifting the box, and jumps back when it falls flat on the floor, almost crushing her foot. "Huh. I forgot how heavy that was."
"Honey, there's an emergency!" Aimee shouts hysterically down the phone to Josh, who immediately panics.
"Emergency?! What? Is the baby coming? It's not time yet!" He shouts, and we all hear a crash, which I assume was him falling over something. We all laugh and hear Josh curse on the other end.
"Anyone would think he's the father." Aimee chuckles, amused, looking at me.
"Awe, but this is good practice for when you do get pregnant," I tease and hear Josh sigh.
"Aimee, for God's sake, stop joking around. I literally fell over trying to put my jeans on, thinking the baby was coming." He grumbles, and we all laugh.
"Dang, that would have been a hell of a sight, baby." She mocks him with a grin, and Josh mutters incoherently to himself. "We need your sexy man muscles."
"We?" Josh intones bemused, and Aimee snickers.
"Yes, we, as a collective." She utters and winks at me. "You see, Shayla hasn't got any action in a very long time, and her pregohormones are running wild, so I told her she could borrow you for the night for some fun time? What do ya say?" I gape at her and slap her arm while she presses her finger to her nose, giggling.
"What?" Josh mutters deadpan, and Aimee covers her mouth to smother her laugh while Jo and I giggle hysterically. "Are you high? What are you girls smoking over there."
"Is that a no, then?" She asks, grinning.
"Of course, it's a no! Jesus Christ, Aimee!" He sputters, and we all laugh. "Oh, you're taking thepiss. I'm hanging up!"
"No, wait!" Aimee laughs, "I'm sorry, baby, I was only teasing you. We do really need your help, though. We're attempting to put the baby's crib together, and we don't have ascooby-doo whereto begin."
Josh sighs, "Okay, I'll be over in a bit."
"That's my man. Bring a pizza. I love you, bye!" She says in a flurry and hangs up. I chuckle and shake my head at her in disbelief.
"How that boy puts up with you, I will never know," I declare, sitting on my bed, and she grins toothily and wags her brows at me.
"I'm a dynamite in bed, baby." She states cheekily, and I laugh.
"We know!" Jo and I say together with a shudder.
"We share a wall." I remind her, and she nods, rather proud of herself.
"Hey, I'm not the only one, you're lucky you've missed the few times Jo and your bro were going at it." She declares, thrusting her hips to illustrate her point. "I thought they we're going to go through the wall,"
"No!" I shout, covering my ears, and Jo throws a pillow at Aimee while she cackles. My phone rings with an unknown number, and I pick it up and answer it.
"Hello?"
"Shayla, hey, it's Blake." I hear someone say on the other end and frown. When I don't say anything, he continues. "Bryant?"
