“She’s good. Very tired and emotional, but she did so damn well.” He sighs and hugs the boys and Jo’s dad. “They’re cleaning her and the baby up. Once they’re done, you can come and see him.”
“Congrats, brother, welcome to fatherhood. There’s no feeling like it.” Cole states, slapping his back, and Sam nods.
“I’ve never fallen in love with another human being so fast in my life. It’s crazy.” He explains, and Cole nods in understanding. Sam went back into the delivery suite, and I step into Cole's embrace when he opens his arms up for me. I was emotional seeing my brother like that. Cole brushes my tears away and kisses my nose.
“Those better be happy tears, Aunty Shay.” He scolds me playfully, and I laugh, nodding in response.
“They are.” I sigh happily. “I can’t believe I’m an aunt, and you’re an uncle.” Cole grins and kisses my forehead.
“We’re going to be the coolest aunt and uncle ever.” I smile up at him, and he nuzzles his nose over mine.
“I’m kind of fond of you, Mr Hoult,” I whisper, and he kisses me.
“I’m very fond of you, Mrs Hoult.” He murmurs, drawing me in for a passionate kiss.
Twenty minutes later, we were finally able to see Jo and the baby. I walk in and hug my mum, who was shedding endless happy tears. Poor Jo looked swollen and exhausted, but her eyes were beaming with such joy as she cradles her son in her arms. “Hi, pretty girl. How are you feeling?” I ask, leaning over to look at my nephew wrapped up in a blue blanket.
“Tired and sore,” Jo replies, smiling, her voice raspy from straining for hours on end. “I can’t believe he’s finally here.” She whispers, looking down at her beautiful baby boy in her arms.
“Oh, my goodness, he’s beautiful.” Jo holds him out to me and take him into my arms, and smiles. “Hi baby, I’m your Aunty Shay. Oh, I’m going to spoil you rotten.” I brush a kiss on his forehead. “Welcome to our world, Treyson Richard Hart.”
