“Eee I’m so excited. Thank you. I’m getting the evil eye here because I didn’t let Buckie in on my plan.”

“Don’t tell him. Keep him in suspense.” Shelly laughs at herself. “It’s a bummer I can’t open an office in L.A. for at least two years because of the contract I signed with Margot. But there’s nothing to stop me working there and having my office in London. Soon as those two years are up, I’ll set myself up there too. Right, I have a press release to write and you two need to talk, so I’ll love you and leave you.”

“Bye Shelly,” I say narrowing my eyes at Zara as I hang up.

“What?” She asks trying to look innocent.

“Spill.”

“I asked Shelly if she’d consider having her new firm do my PR for my business, both here and globally.”

“Oh wow. I wasn’t expecting that. How exciting.”

“Well, I’ve seen how good she is, so I know she’s the perfect fit. I also know she won’t employ anyone who won’t be as good as her, so I’ll be in safe hands.”

“I’m proud of you sweetheart.”

“I’m extremely proud of you too. We make a great power couple, don’t we?”

“Absolutely.”

I’m glad she’ll have her own PR and even better that it’s Shelly who’ll be looking after her. She’ll need it to help cope with anything else my job throws at us.
