“I’m never letting you go again,” I say, kissing the top of her head and formulating a new life plan in my mind.

“Wow. You’re a goddamn knockout.”
I’m stunned as I walk into the suite and see Zara standing at the window directly in front of me. She’s dressed in the most stunning royal blue floor length satin dress. Her hair is sleek and shiny, and her makeup gives her a look befitting of Hollywood glamour.
“You like?”
She twirls herself and I see the back of the dress that sits dangerously low at the base of her back. It shows off the curve of her ass and hips and I know I’ve never seen anything as beautiful in my life.
“Like? It’s taking a lot of composure not to rip that off you right now.”
“Buckie I can’t tell you how much fun this was. That stylist was amazing. She brought a whole rack of dresses in all the colours of the rainbow for me to choose from. I went with this colour to match your kilt.” She walks towards me holding out some of the draping fabric against my kilt. It looks like they’ve been made for each other. “I’d say it was a good choice.”
“You’re not kidding. It’s stunning and I can’t think of a better body to wear it.” I pull her into me kissing her lightly, careful not to smudge her makeup.
“Our limo will be here soon. We’ll arrive together. But unfortunately, I’ll need to leave you to do the obligatory photos with the press and meeting the fans. I can’t neglect them. Did you know some of them camp out overnight?”
“That’s crazy but I suppose some people live for this kind of thing.”
“You’d never believe that some people make a business out of it. I know of at least two women who do as many premieres as they can every year and blog about it. They’re incredibly popular and have made a lot of money doing it. They’ve probably been doing it so long that they know more about movie premieres than some actors do.”
“I assume Shelly will be there? I like her you know. She’s very easy to get on with. Not at all what I thought a PR rep would be like.”
I nod in absolute agreement. “I love Shelly to bits. I can’t tell you how many times she’s saved my ass. I have to admit when I move back home, she’s going to be the one thing I’ll miss most.”
“I know she takes good care of you, she told me so herself while you were at your interviews yesterday. And she was mighty pissed that Annalise hadn’t turned up and you had to do them all yourself.”
“Hmm. On the subject of Annalise. I was hoping you’d have got to meet her yesterday, so you were prepared for her. She’s not the nicest of people to be around. In fact, she’s rather toxic. It’ll come from a lifetime of being pampered and spoiled. My guess is she’s always been a diva. Apparently, she did all those kiddie beauty pageants when she was young. She says that’s where she was discovered and started doing tv commercials. Imagine going from eating cereal and playing board games to full frontal nudity within ten years. Anyway, I’m not about to judge anyone for their choices, just be careful of her is all I’m saying.”
“I’m a big girl Buckie. I think I can handle her. Bet she’s never come up against a crazy Glesga lassie.”
I laugh at her. Zara is the most kind-hearted, sweet soul I’ve ever known. She’d never hurt a fly and I know she’s never run with gangs in her life. She’s as far removed from a crazy Glesga lassie as a lassie could get.
The suite phone rings and Zara answers it in the poshest voice I’ve ever heard coming from her mouth. “Okay thank you kindly. We will be with you momentarily.” She laughs at herself as she puts the receiver down.
“What the hell was that?”
She flicks her hair back and smiles. “Just playing the part. I mean I look damn posh in this frock so why not act it. Limo’s here.”
“You look damn fine in that frock. Right let’s go. Can’t keep the adoring public waiting.”
I take her hand and give her a light peck on the cheek as we head out of the suite. I want to enjoy this night with her before I have to tell her I’m leaving again.
