“And I’m just a doctor. Neither is less important.”

“Maybe.”

Dario cupped her face with both hands and stroked her lips with his thumbs. “Not maybe. You’re important. We all know it. And everyone you’ve ever come into contact with knows it. I’m proud to be able to say I know you.”

She melted into him, leaning forward and kissing him almost before he stopped talking. He had a way of helping her relax. He knew the right things to say to soften her heart. They all did. But right now, it was Dario who was taking control.

His lips were soft. He took his time, easing into the kiss, teasing the seam of her lips with his tongue. When he playfully bit her bottom lip, she smiled. “I could kiss you all night,” he murmured.

She felt the same. She knew from the rest of the kisses she’d received from these men that they had a way of lowering her inhibitions and driving away her nerves.

The longer she kissed him the closer she inched until she gripped the side of his shirt with one hand. She still hadn’t let go of the tight hold she had on her towel, but her resolve to keep herself covered was slipping.

Dario slid a hand to her lower back. “I’ve seen this sexy body before, you know,” he whispered against her mouth. “I know about the freckle on your left breast and the birthmark on your right butt cheek.”

She smiled against him. For some reason, it didn’t bother her that he was talking about her naked body. It was kind of easier knowing she wouldn’t be revealing herself for the first time. “We’re not even then,” she boldly announced. “I haven’t seen your body.”

He wiggled his brows. “I’d be happy to get naked if you’d like. Would that make you feel like the playing field was even, or freak you out?”

“I don’t know, but try it.” She was pulling every ounce of bravery out of her reserves. She wanted this. She wanted to know what this man could do to her. Where he could take her. What he could make her forget.

Dario leaned back and pulled his shirt over his head.

She let her gaze wander up and down his chest. Firm. Chiseled. Strong. Tanned. A scatter of hair ran down toward his belly button in a V as if pointing toward his erection.

And there was no mistaking his erection. Even though he hadn’t removed his pants yet, his shaft was obvious beneath his tenting scrubs.

She took a step back. “Take off your pants too.”

“You sure?”

“Yes.”

He rose in front of her and ran a finger down her cheek. “No matter what, even if I’m naked, you still get to say no at any point. You’re under no obligation to have sex.”

“Okay.” She liked that he made it so clear over and over that she was in control. It calmed her. There was no doubt she’d fallen hard for three of the last good guys left on earth.

Dario eased his pants over his hips, taking his underwear with them, and lowered them to the floor, leaving himself gloriously naked. And God, he was glorious.

She tried not to let his erection make her nervous. He’d said he wouldn’t do anything she didn’t ask for. She trusted him. She wouldn’t be here standing in front of him wearing a towel if she didn’t trust him completely.

She met his gaze. “I don’t want you to get the wrong idea. I’ve had sex. Several times. Years ago. But none of my partners let me just explore. May I?”

Dario waved a hand between them. “Be my guest.”

She used her free hand to stroke his length from base to tip, noticing the way he sucked in a breath, though she could tell he was trying hard not to react. “You’re gorgeous,” she whispered.

“Thank you, sweetheart. You are too.” He didn’t ask her to drop the towel, which she appreciated.

She wrapped her fingers around his length and eased her palm up and down the shaft. “Tell me what feels good.”

“That feels amazing, Maya.” He was panting now. “I’ll warn you, if you keep stroking me, I’ll come. I don’t want you to be blindsided.”

“Okay. Will you do that for me? I want to watch.”

He chuckled and leaned his hips against the mattress. “If that’s what you want, sweetheart.”

“Do you want me to, uh, suck on it?” she asked, flushing.
