He nods slowly. “In the boot of the SUV.”

“Gimme the key.” I hold my hand out.

“Why?”

“Because Ruby wants me to hurry the fuck up.”

“You’re going somewhere with Ruby?”

“Go ask her if you want to know. I need to get changed.”

“I will,” he murmurs, standing up and handing me the key.

Giving Ramsey a brief nod as I take it and walk past him, I disappear quickly, relieved to be out of the sights of the woman and the stifling atmosphere of the bar. Drawing in a breath of fresh air, I lean against the wall outside for a moment, before I head to the back of the car park and the Range Rover that Declan sometimes drives. I open it and grab the bag, locking it behind me and slipping in through the back to avoid that woman. Ruby’s office is empty when I return, so I head to the bathroom and strip off quickly, washing my hands and face before I change my clothes for Declan’s. Smart black pants and a black shirt. I fucking look even more like him now, preferring to differentiate myself by wearing jeans and a t-shirt most times.

“Jaysus,” I mutter and turn from the mirror. Opening the door, I see Ruby and Declan waiting for me.

She blinks once and her red lips part as she lets out a soft pant. “Oh.”

“Don’t get used to it,” I growl. “I’m not him.”

“And nor do I want you to be,” she says carefully. “I just thought you looked hot is all.”

I grit my teeth, not taking the compliment.

“Cillian,” she says, coming to me and taking my hand. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you.”

“It’s not you,” I admit. “It’s me. It’s that woman outside, it’s having the same face as him and standing next to him…”

“What? What woman?”

“He means the woman serving at the bar. He doesn’t like it when women fancy him and he fucking hates it when they look at the two of us wishing we would fuck them together,” Declan says.

“Oh,” she says, understanding dawning. It makes me love her even more. She’s not questioning me or trying to force me to feel something I don’t with words that mean nothing. “Well, you know, I know you’re you and he’s him and I wouldn’t have it any other way. As for the fucking, sorry, can’t help that. When the two of you take me together, it exceeds thrilling and I can’t wait to do it again. Preferably with many people watching.”

“Public sex?” Declan murmurs.

My heart thumps louder. We fucked in the car park earlier, but there wasn’t really anyone there until the very end. I have never screwed a woman with strangers watching before, well, outside of the six of us, obviously. If she wants to do that, I will but my palms sweat with nerves at the thought.

“You said you know a place,” Ruby’s voice interrupts my musing.

“I do.”

“Set it up.”

He nods, looking over at me.

I nod once and then clear my throat. “We ready to go and do this? I’m actually fecking dying to get my hands dirty and get back to work.”

“Well, that you will, my love. Let’s go.”

Fully expecting Declan to join us, I’m surprised when he doesn’t move forward with her.

“You’re not coming?”

He shakes his head. “This is your thing. Go.”

Ruby smiles and leaves the office, but before I can follow her, Declan grabs my arm. “You fucking keep her safe, brother. If anything else happens to her…” His eyes fill with something so profoundly emotional, I gulp.

“She is everything to me, I won’t let anyone lay a hand on her.”

He knows I mean it and he lets me go, every fiber of his being telling him to follow. I know him. He is in love with Ruby, without a doubt, but the obsession he has with her, the sheer need to be near her to survive makes it even more difficult for him to let her go. He is placing his trust in me, and I won’t let him down.

I follow Ruby out of the office and find her near the front door. Grimacing, I go to her, ignoring the woman behind the bar. With a wicked smile, Ruby grabs me, cupping my face as she rises on her toes to kiss me deeply, twisting her tongue around mine, moaning and pressing her body against me in a show that makes me laugh out loud.

“You’re evil,” I murmur against her lips.

“Just want everyone to know you’re mine.”

The suffocating feeling dissipates a bit, leaving me able to breathe easier. She takes my hand and leads me out of the door and over to where The Banker is waiting in a sleek black Mercedes.
