“Hold that thought,” I murmur, making him groan. “Wait here and you will see me and Declan real soon, ’kay?”

“Don’t do anything stupid,” he mutters.

David lets out a loud guffaw. “You do know who you are talking to, right?”

Cillian snickers and kisses the tip of my nose lightly. “I mean it, Ruby. If we have to come in there after you, you will be in for a world of trouble afterwards, am I clear?”

“Yes, sir,” I murmur, lowering my eyes seductively.

“Go then and be fucking safe.”

He releases his hold on me and Ramsey grabs me next. “Before you go, what did Adam say to you when we pulled over? What was that about? You need to give us all the facts, Ruby.”

I sigh. “The woman I was sent in after, Tiff, was actually on the run from Vinnie. I didn’t find that out until after I met her. She is scared and has no one except Adam, and quite frankly…” I glance over my shoulder at the Butcher before turning back to my men, “…she needs more than that. But Vinnie had me followed and found her. She is back in his clutches now and it’s all my fault.”

“Shit,” he huffs out. “This isn’t your fault, Ruby, but I get it. Go do your thing and we will be waiting here with the engines running.”

I smile and rise up on my tiptoes to kiss him. “You are perfect,” I murmur and then with a quick kiss to both David and Layton, who appears to be on the border of wanting to stop me, I walk away and join Adam by his car.

“You got a plan?” he asks.

“Find Vinnie, and kill him,” I reply, not seeing an issue with these two steps.

“Fair enough,” he says, and we stride over to the back door of the dingy warehouse where the pop-up is being held. “Are we going in hot or cold?”

I grin at him, my eyes flashing with the thrill, any trepidation I felt earlier, dissipating as I pull my knives out of the tops of my boots. “I always go in hot,” I purr.

He laughs and opens the door, “After you then.”
