“And how do we go about doing that?” I ask.
“Pah,” he scoffs. “Connor O’Leary is the most well protected man in Ireland, no one can get near him.”
I frown. I know that name and it’s not good. Not good at all.
“Unless we don’t,” Cillian adds quietly. “Get near him, that is. There is only one man in the entire world who will have a shot at him.” He is staring directly at Declan.
We all turn to stare at the man, whose face has gone like stone.
“You want Declan to kill your boss?” David hisses, even though there is no one else around us for miles.
I shake my head. The difference is subtle to all but me, but I’m starting to figure out how Declan’s mind works. “No, not kill,” I say and place my hand on Cillian’s shoulder. “You have to put a hit out on the head of the Irish mafia.”
Silence falls and all gazes land on Cillian.
