I nod and clamp my hand around the switchblade handle. I yank it out of the desk and flick the blade back in. Sliding it into the holster, I bend to pick up my bag.

Declan turns and leads the way out of the office with me close behind him and Layton at my back. I don’t bother asking where Ramsey is. I don’t care. All I care about is getting to him and appeasing the burning hunger I have for hurting those who abducted him.

David is waiting in the corridor, looking anxious. As we pass him, I pause and let caution fly in the wind.

I grab his tie and pull him closer to me, planting a kiss on those sexy lips to his utmost surprise. I let him go and ask, “Do I have a fluffy-slipper wearing skank in my way?”

He snorts with amusement. “The fluffy-slipper wearing skank is definitely not in your way.”

“Good,” I say with a smile and let him go. “We’ll talk when I get back.”

“I’ll be here,” he says and steps back with a smile I want to call smug, on his face. “Don’t do anything stupid.”

“You know me,” I call back as we head out to the bar.

“Yeah, I do,” I hear him mutter, but ignore the comment.

I know what I’m doing and now…I want it done.
