“We’ll watch Coco,” Nick said. “Unless you want us to come with you, too.”
“I knew the universe would come through for you.” Morgyn hugged Jordan. “Now it’s time to manifest healing.”
Jordan looked a little overwhelmed, her gaze bouncing from one person to the next.
Jax stepped forward and said, “First and foremost, Sully’s whereabouts and name must stay out of the media. That means no talking to family or friends about where she is, where we’re going, or any of it.” There were murmurs of understanding. “Carly, yes to the intro, but give us a few minutes to wrap our heads around this. Beau, sounds good. We’ll stay at the inn until we figure out a plan, thank you. Can we use your truck so we don’t leave a trail with a rental receipt?”
“It’s in the shop. I’ll have Cutter get Char’s car ready for you.” Cutter was one of Beau and Char’s friends.
“Thanks. Jilly, call Victoria. We need a private plane and a private airstrip, and please let her know to keep it under wraps. Sheila and Gary need flights, too. We need to leave ASAP.” He looked at Gary. “Does that work for you?”
“Yes.” Gary nodded.
“Great. Zev, Mom, thanks for offering to go, but we don’t want to overwhelm Casey with too many people. Nick, watching Coco is great, and, Graham and Morgyn, if you could turn the manifesting of healing to overdrive, we’d appreciate it.”
“Jax,” Jordan said as quickly as his words had come.
“Yeah, babe? Sorry, I know it’s overwhelming.”
“It is. A good kind of overwhelming. But I don’t want to put everyone out just because you’re with me. I can handle this. I can make flight arrangements and find a hotel, and—”
“Honey, we aren’t helping because of Jax.” His mother stepped out from between his brothers. “We’re helping because this is what family does, and we consider you family.” She looked at Sheila and Gary. “All of you, and Casey, too.”
Jordan looked like she was going to cry again, and Jax reached for her hand.
“I’m okay,” she said with tears in her eyes. “I’m better than okay. I’m not going to cry. I’m not going to…” Tears slid down her cheeks. “I love you, and I love your family, and we found Casey, and now she has family to help her carry her baggage, too. I’m sorry I’m crying. I’m just so darn happy.”
“It’s okay, babe. Life’s too short to hold the important things in.” As Jax wrapped her in his arms and his family began scrambling to make their arrangements, he found a sense of peace among the chaos. Not only had Jordan found her sister, but he’d also found his perfect fit. He gazed into her teary eyes, overflowing with love for the woman who had stolen his heart more than a year ago, and as a sweet sigh escaped her lips, he said, “I’m darn happy, too.”
