“Teagan!” I hissed.

She paid me no mind.

“He’s built like a fucking stallion. And I bet he is a stallion. You know he has stamina. Like there’s just no doubt. He can’t be a two-pump chump. It’s just not possible.”

Jamie glanced up and choked on a laugh. “Um, Teag, seriously, shut up.”

“Damn, look at that huge ass bird tattoo on his back. What is that? An eagle?”

“A hawk,” Noah said smoothly, stopping beside the table.

Teagan let out a squeak and dropped my phone. It hit the floor with a loud crack.

“Oh, God, please let that just be the case. I can’t afford a new iPhone right now.”

“Nah, they’re sturdy fuckers. Hang on.” Surprising the hell out of me, long-legged, long-everything Jamie shimmied off the bench and under the table like a damn eel to retrieve my phone.

Only problem was, Noah had bent to do the same. The table shook and I wasn’t sure if they were engaged in combat under there or making out, but after a minute, Jamie emerged victorious with the phone held high above her head and one hoop earring missing. “I intend to see these pix. Teagan was hogging the damn phone. Seriously, girl, you need to get some. Fast.”

“Sounds like she knows who she wants it from. Right, Teag?” Cooper’s voice was uncharacteristically hard.

Teagan ignored him. “So, Ricki, are you pregnant yet? How’s it going there, shooter?” Teagan pointed at Mal. “You got any bullets in that gun?”

I didn’t think I’d ever seen Mal flush before. His whole head turned red. “If I did, you’d probably better duck.”

I was pretty sure that didn’t mean what he’d intended, but who could blame him? He probably hadn’t expected to be accused of fertility issues in front of a dozen people.

Elle stomped on Teagan’s foot hard under the table. “No, thank you very much. We aren’t even trying yet, you jerk. I am not mentioning anything to you ever again.” She sniffed. “Also, no, you cannot have my Adam and Eve platinum club membership discount now. Go fish. I hope your girly bits dry up and fall off.”

Teagan reeled back. “Harsh. Seriously harsh.”

Lindsey coughed delicately into her hand. “So, has anyone seen any good movies lately?”

Cooper circled the booth to come stand behind us. He leaned over. “So, let’s see those photos.”

Teagan frowned and shoved him back. “These aren’t for you.”

“They aren’t for you either, seems like. Sorry to break your heart.”

It sounded to me as if Cooper was the one with the broken heart. And Noah was definitely not concerned with Teagan’s latest verbal fumble. His focus was solely on Jamie as she tapped on the screen of my phone.

Jamie cocked her head while she scrolled through. “Hmm.”

“Hmm?”

“Nice ass,” was all she said as she dropped my blessedly intact phone in my lap.

“Whose?” Noah asked, his voice surprisingly sharp.

I blinked. Had Noah been drinking? Which, by the way, Teagan was now doing. She’d finished off my drink and snagged the rest of Jamie’s, but she hadn’t made eye contact with Noah yet.

He seemed to have other fish—uh, rockstars to fry at the moment.

Jamie flashed him a serene smile. “You’ll never know, will you, tyrant?”

He crossed his arms over his bullish chest, pulling the seams of his shirt tight. “You slipped your guard again. Make that guards.”

“See what I mean?” She relaxed in the booth and spread her arms wi
