“I can stay,” she said on a low voice then sat down.

I twisted her to face the large lit mirror again. “Don’t worry about me.” I rescued the ends of her braid and quickly finished it off. I pinned it into a crown and teased her curls around her face, then added a little glitter spray for good measure.

Five minutes later I was brushing my favorite pearl highlighter along the crest of her cheeks. Teagan had flawless skin and didn’t need much, but a little sparkle never hurt anyone. I widened her eyes with a few well placed lashes.

“I’m so glad you used cruelty free makeup. I swear if Cooper sends me another link about animal testing for makeup I’m going to kill him.” She sighed and looked up when I told her to. “But I still sent a thousand bucks to a sanctuary who takes those poor animals in after they’re retired.”

“Aww, that’s sweet.” I used a dot of glue to add another little clump to the corner of her lash line. “Only place mink is cute is on those cute little furry faces.”

“Amen, sister.”

“Okay, let that dry for another minute and we’ll set your face and you’re good to go.”

“Finally,” Oz muttered.

I ignored him. Which was difficult because I could feel his eyes on my ass. Damn him. Finally, I couldn’t fuss with her face any longer. I unsnapped her cape. “Have a good show.”

She hopped down and fluffed her hair as she took a closer look at herself. “You are a genius.”

“Easy when you’re so beautiful.”

Teagan’s cheeks reddened and she rolled her eyes. She dragged me in for another hug. “Don’t let him get to you.”

I hugged her back. “I’ll be fine.”

I turned around to find Oz looming over me. Those intense, dark eyes still made my system go haywire, but dammit I could ignore that. I would ignore that.

I was a freaking professional.

“Get in the chair please.”

He moved even closer. I wanted to step back, but I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction. He thought he could control me and this situation. He was so very wrong.

“What do you want, Oz? You’re the one who cut me loose, remember?”

His jaw did that clench thing. Ugh, why did he have to be so unbelievably hot and intense? Actually, better question was why did that get me off so much?

Maybe that’s why I’d never been able to find another man to interest me.

Another thing I’d have to work on.

Find another dude who knew how to drive me crazy—only this time he stuck around when shit got hard.

Sure, that would be easy.

I crossed my arms over my black smock with hot pink kiss marks all over it. I was determined to keep my game face even if everything in me wanted to climb up his crazy hot body and shake some sense into him.

Didn’t he see how good we were together?

“Are you really going to leave the tour because of me?”

“No, I’m leaving because of me. Big difference. I deserve more, so I’m going to go find it.” I walked around him to my arsenal of tools. I turned on every one of my curling irons. “Sit.”

“You think you can order me around, sprite?”

“This is my domain. You don’t like it, there’s the door.”

He held up his hands. “I’m at your disposal.”
