When Mike opened an eye and spotted her, he mouthed something.

I love you.

Without warning, she pulled up her shirt and flashed him.

His jaw was still hanging open as she sat down and Alisa shouted, “Amen!”

“Amen, baby,” Ellie said.

“What was that?” Mike asked.

She blinked at him innocently. “What? I was just showing you how much I love you.”

Mike shook his head, mumbling something about teasing one’s husband.

“Hey,” she said.

He looked up from his steak.

“I love you, too.”

He grinned at her. “That’s what I like to hear.”

Series Epilogue

Six years later

Dear Citizens of Rock Canyon,

For the past ten years, I have regaled you with the secrets and happenings of our sleepy little town, and loved every minute of it. Which is why this last blog is so painful to write. You see, as much as I love being your small-town gossip girl, it is time for me to move on. There will be no more Small Town Scandal updates. I am afraid you will have to get your gossip the old-fashioned way…from each other.

Please don’t weep; it’s embarrassing. I may not be reporting to you, but I will still be here, watching everything you do.

And who knows, if things start getting seriously out of hand, I may come back again someday.

Eric Henderson stared at the short and sweet goodbye column. Despite his wife’s assumption that someone new had taken over Small Town Scandals, he hadn’t been able to give up his column to anyone else. Gracie had no clue he’d continued it.

But with their fourth child on the way, Eric was less interested in the goings-on of Rock Canyon, preferring to stick closer to home. Graham had bought him out of his half of Buck’s a month ago, and Eric was taking the time to write more.

He leaned back in his chair, smiling as he thought about all the romances he’d written about over the past ten years.

Katie and Chase. Gemma and Travis. Val and Justin. Gabe and Caroline. Callie and Everett. Mike and Ellie.

And of course, the greatest love story of all. Gracie and Eric.

The sound of the front door slamming and the thunder of feet alerted Eric that his family was home.

He hit Send on the email to his editor and walked out of his office, ready to start a new chapter.
