For what felt like hours, he continued the torture. He would speed up whenever she neared orgasm, but he would only keep up the pace long enough for her to feel pleasure. Each orgasm seemed to be stronger than the previous. The second her trembling eased, he would resume his more leisurely pace. It was driving her crazy, and she had long ago lost count of how many orgasms she’d experienced.
Thrusting into her harder, he groaned. His mouth was on her neck, sucking hard as he maintained the faster pace. He’d been quiet through their coupling, but now that he seemed to near orgasm, he became more vocal. His lips never left her neck, but she could hear him moaning in delight. She felt his cock twitch inside of her as her eyes rolled upward and she practically screamed from the force of her orgasm.
Stacy felt Jack ease out of her. He stretched out beside her, his arm going around her waist. She was wiped. She didn’t even have the energy to lift her head and look at the clock. Closing her eyes, Stacy sighed happily as she fell asleep.
Chapter Ten
Stacy stretched her limbs slowly. She was sore all over, thanks to Jack. But it was a good feeling. He was a sweet man, and had proven to be a very considerate lover. Thankfully, only the first time had been leisurely. Despite the fact that she knew he’d drunk from her during their interludes, she’d felt no pain. Looking over at the clock, she grew anxious.
Turning toward him, she said, “Jack, you have to get up.”
“Again?” His voice was still sleepy, but she could hear the teasing in it.
“No.” She blushed. She did seem to be going a little wild. Before she started working for BSC, she’d have been thankful to have sex twice a week. But now, two orgasms was a slow night, and she had yet to actually interact with an incubus! Was this new insatiable hunger because the men she’d been with were not ‘mortal’? Or was her ex just so lacking in the bedroom that she had stopped caring if they were intimate?
She decided not to wonder about that subject at the moment. According to her clock it would be dawn soon, and she wasn’t sure if her curtains were thick enough to black out the sun’s rays. Was it sunlight or the ultraviolet radiation that was lethal to vampires? Either way, she doubted Jack would be comfortable—or appreciate—sleeping in a closet.
“You have to get up. It’s almost dawn.”
That seemed to get his attention. He sat up in the bed and ran a hand through his tussled hair. Several strands stood straight up.
“It’s comforting to know you care about my safety.” He kissed her forehead. “You’ll have to get some vampire books to add to your collection.”
Stacy felt her face grow hotter. She wasn’t aware of him actually entering her library even though they’d talked about it briefly.
“Perhaps I can help you choose a few one night,” Jack continued.
The invitation was left open, but she knew he’d asked her out on a date. She lowered her head slightly, not looking him in the eye. “That would be nice.”
Jack tilted her head up and kissed her gently.
Wait a second. How would the woman in the bookstore react if she walked in with Jack after dropping Demetri’s name this past weekend? Was there another bookstore they could go to? What would Demetri say if he found out?
Stacy made a mental note to ask Ms. Pope if she could have whatever it was she was feeling for the werewolf blocked. It would certainly make her life easier. And she was certain it would be worth whatever price was asked of her.
“Great. I’ll give you a call. Maybe we can do something this weekend.” As Jack spoke, and she’d become lost in her thoughts, he’d climbed out of bed and started to dress.
She nodded. She’d given up on wondering how people could, would, or did get her cell phone number. It seemed that anyone with ties to BSC could get access to it. And she wasn’t sure she wanted to have the details on that.
“Do you regret what happened?”
When Stacy looked up at him shocked that he’d ask her that, she saw him looking intently into her eyes. His expression was so open and searching she couldn’t look away. So, she thought about his question, really thought about it.
“No. I’m a little worried about how fast I’ve been moving since I left...” She’d been about to say her soon-to-be-ex’s name, but that didn’t seem right. She didn’t want to ruin what she’d been feeling with Jack. She decided to start calling him exactly what he felt like to her. “My ex. But I don’t regret being with you.”
“Fair enough. I’ll call you. I can see myself out.”
Despite his protests, Stacy climbed out of bed. Disregarding her pajamas, she walked him to the door. After what they’d done together, she was completely unashamed of her nudity. There wasn’t a single part of her body that he hadn’t examined intimately. She also couldn’t feel embarrassed about the various marks on her body—old or new. Why should she care about them, if he didn’t?
Before he left, he gave her another kiss.
Once the door was firmly closed and locked, she sighed. Stacy wasn’t sure how much wilder her new life could become. She was, however, reasonably certain if it was anything like what she’d been experiencing, she’d enjoy every minute of the ride.

Stacy entered the office and waved to Tina. She’d been surprised to find out that the front door was rarely locked. It seemed BSC had its own methods to ensure that no one came in uninvited.
She wasn’t quite certain if she needed to make an appointment to see Ms. Pope or not, but she was determined to find out. She desperately needed to find out about getting her feelings for a certain hunky werewolf suppressed.
