"I liked what I saw. And I was curious."

"Fair enough." Jason murmured, shrugging. "It's done anyway. It's not like you could take it back anyway. Once you've placed a bid, you can't take it back." He finished, crossing his legs.

"I never planned to," Joshua said coolly, folding his arms across his chest.

"That's the spirit, Joshua, the adventurous!" Jason quipped, giving him a thumbs up. "I'm all for it, Joshua. I'm all for you living it up. It's refreshing, seeing you want to let loose a bit. It's progress on your part. Try not to ruin this by being your usual stiff self. Since you said you like this girl, act like it, eh?"

"I feel mildly insulted."

"It wasn't intentional, I’m looking out for the poor girl that's going to be stuck with you."

"Whatever. I hope that I get my money's worth."

"Damn, Joshua. You treat everything like a contract. Why don't you go with the flow? This is why you have no female friends. Speaking of, why don't you have female friends anyway?" Jason asked, leaning back in his chair.

"I don't think it's necessary. All females do is complicate things. Life is easier without romance. Imagine constantly having to worry about what your partner is doing all day. There’s less drama. I only have to worry about myself, and I like it that way. It helps keep me focused. It's easier to concentrate on work without having to worry about when the next anniversary or birthday is."

"You’re missing out. Women are fun! I personally think that life is boring and empty without romance. I mean, what else is there to live for?"

"Money." Joshua put in, rolling his eyes.

"Money, money, money. It's always about money with you. It's not like you don't have more than enough already."

Joshua's phone vibrated in his pocket. It couldn't possibly be a text, he thought. Apart from Shane, no one texted him these days. It was a notification from the website. Joshua turned it on when he made a bid.

His bid had been accepted.Of course, it was,he thought. Who could say no to a million dollars? He could message her now. Joshua typed the venue and date for their meeting then exited the website. That was all he needed to say to her. There was no need to beat around the bush.

Nazalie

It felt like the day would never end. After Nazalie got the message from the bidder, it had been one test after the other. Nazalie found it weird that he wasn't even interested in knowing her name. Whoever it was had decided to treat everything professionally. Nazalie didn't know how to feel about that. Nazalie didn't think she had a choice in the matter, so she went on with the necessary tests. The site made sure that both parties had to go through physical examinations before they could meet. They set everything up, and the bidder paid for it.

Nazalie found herself at a private hospital waiting to be attended to. She was supposed to show them a document that she had printed out from the site. After she did that, they would take her to a separate room for testing. It seemed that something was wrong. She had been sitting in the reception for about an hour, and no one attended to her.

"Excuse me?" she called, gesturing to the nurse behind the counter. "I've been sitting here for an hour now, and I haven't been attended to. I want to know if everything is alright. Do I need to come back tomorrow?"

"No, you don't. Be patient. Your doctor will be here soon."

'My doctor?' Nazalie thought, confused. What did she mean by my doctor?

A middle-aged man in an expensive-looking suit walked in, holding a briefcase.

"I'm sorry I'm late. I was caught up at the office. Nothing beats saving lives." The man said, smiling.

"This is your patient, Dr. Furlough. She has been here for over an hour. She was starting to get impatient. At least you're here now."

"Well, I’m sorry, miss," he said, turning to Nazalie. "I'm the doctor that's going to test you. Please follow me."

When they were in the room, he instructed her to change into a hospital gown and handed her a file.

"That's my client's file. It contains all his medical records. I was told to give them to you. You can have them checked at another hospital to be sure they're genuine."

There was no name or age on the file. Whoever it was wanted to stay anonymous. So, this doctor was his private doctor. How much money does this man have? Why not use one of the hospital's doctors? Some rich people were so extra.

It all made sense to her. The man had to be extremely rich for him to bid a million dollars for a random girl's virginity.

She lay silently on the bed with her legs stretched. Nazalie closed her eyes as she let him poke and prod her most intimate place. She felt sore after the test, she still had to do a physical examination and some blood tests.
