"Okay, okay. Jeez… You’re no fun."

"Get on with it, Jason."

"I wanted to give you a hint that would make you a lot of money."

The idea of making more money piqued Joshua's interest. He leaned forward in his chair.

"I see you're interested now. You're a business fiend. Anyways, last week I came across a site called 'Loseit'"

"Loseit?"

"It's a site dedicated to women looking to sell their virginities and men willing to pay for it. I invested in it, and it's been making me a lot of money. A site that lets people place bids on other people's virginity. It's trendy these days, but people don't talk about it. It's a closely kept secret. Only a few people know about it, that's why I'm telling you about it. There are only a few slots left, you should invest before it's too late."

Joshua was dumbfounded. A site that deals in virgins.

"Okay, thanks."

"You're welcome…" Jason said, standing. "I have to go, though. I dropped by to see how you were doing; you never call anyway, so I have no choice but to come over. I'm not a night owl like you, though. The next time we meet, you're treating me to a drink."

Joshua shrugged. "If I'm free, sure. You said the name of the site was 'Loseit,' right?"

"Yes, it is. And Joshua?" he said, turning to him as he was about to close the door behind him. "Go home."

With that, he left, leaving Joshua with a lot to think about. Joshua stood up and poured himself a drink. If Jason took the time to come over here, tell him about the site, the least he could do was check it out.

The site wasn't easy to find. When Joshua eventually found it, he was asked to pay a 20,000-dollar fee and drop his credit card details. That piqued his curiosity even more.

He did as he was asked and narrowed his search down to what he was looking for. There were options of age, race, hair color, even eye color. They were thorough. Ten girls matched his choices on the bidding list for the week. All from different parts of the world. Four of them were already claimed. Not all of them were pretty, some of them were plain-looking, bidders didn't seem to mind. It was like a whole new world for Joshua. These girls were willing to give up their virginity for money. Even if he was unconvinced before, it was apparent now that he had to work extra hard because money ruled the world.

A new picture suddenly came up; there was a new bidding candidate. He clicked on the photo to enlarge it. Joshua was awestruck by her beauty. Her curly black hair was let down so that the breeze blew it around her face; the green bikini she wore matched her eyes perfectly and stood out against her brown skin. There were some guys in the picture, looking back at her. They seemed to know how beautiful she was. She looked like a goddess of the sun the way her skin glowed to the point that it shone.

She was laughing in the picture, and it made her look even more beautiful. How can someone so beautiful still be a virgin? Are all the men in her area blind? He wondered about her: about what she was doing when she took the picture. He thought about who was behind the camera that was making her laugh so much. He wondered if they ever met, could he make her smile as she did in the picture? He decided then that he wanted to meet her, even if it was to satisfy his curiosity.

Joshua placed a bid, a bid for the beautiful woman's virginity.

Nazalie

It always annoyed Nazalie that she still woke up early on her off days. Michael was spending the day with his family, so the bakery was closed for today.

"Urgh!" Nazalie groaned, hitting the bed with her fists. She suddenly remembered that her picture was now on the website. Nazalie glared at her laptop like it was the devil that convinced her to create the profile. Rubbing her face with her palms, Nazalie let out a long sigh; she needed someone to talk to. Nazalie wondered if Katherine was free today. Quickly, she texted Katherine, and to Nazalie's relief, she replied with a thumbs-up emoji. They were going to meet at one of the branches of Tim Hortons Doughnuts. It was still seven in the morning, but Nazalie set out anyway.

She sat at the café and waited patiently for Katherine. Nazalie went ahead and ordered a hot cup of cocoa for herself. An hour later, Katherine arrived in all her glory.

Nazalie spotted her at the entrance of the Café wearing a large coat, boots and a tuque. Katherine waved excitedly when she spotted Nazalie. Even in a large cloak and a tuque that covered most of her face, Katherine still looked stunning.

"Nazalie!" Katherine squealed excitedly, hugging her tight. "It's been forever."

Nazalie laughed as they sat down. "I saw you last week, don't be dramatic."

"Well, you barely call me nowadays. I was starting to get worried, that's why I rushed over here when I got your text." That made Nazalie laugh.

"I got here an hour ago. I didn't order anything for you because I knew you'd be a while."

"Guilty as charged," Katherine whispered, raising her arms in surrender. "You know that there are certain preparations that must be taken before I go out. All this beauty," she gestured towards her whole outfit, "did not make itself."

Nazalie smiled, rolling her eyes. Katherine was a pure Canadian. Nazalie knew she sounded more American than Canadian; people often asked her if she was a foreigner. The common phrases never stuck with her. Maybe it was because her parents were American.
