Michael nodded silently. Who would do such a thing? Why would a human being buy something so they can destroy it? What kind of monster was this person?

Nazalie decided then that she wasn't going to let that happen. She ran up to the nearest construction worker and turned him to face her.

"Who is in charge here? Who is overseeing this?"

He pointed towards the back of the building. The man seemed shocked that a random woman was yelling at him.

Nazalie rushed to the back of the building. She was going to stop this madness.

Many people were gathered at the back, seemingly looking over some plans. Nazalie was about to burst into another fit of screams when she sees a familiar head of raven black hair.

It was Joshua addressing some of the construction workers. He still looked as handsome as ever. His blue eyes were concentrated on the paper in front of him. His hair wasn't combed back from his face, so it fell over his eyes in curls. His shirt was folded to the elbows; she could see the muscles of his arms as he ran his hands through his hair.

"Who is in charge here?" Nazalie asked, even though she knew it was a stupid question. "You can't demolish this bakery."

This Joshua was different. Gone was the Joshua that laughed when she spoke, who held her like she was the most precious thing in the world. He was all business now. She could feel his intense stare as he stalked closer to her.

Nazalie felt like a bug that was about to be squashed. His height made him look more menacing, but Nazalie wasn't intimidated. She came to do something, and she was going to get it done. Stubbornly, she planted her feet on the ground in case she had the urge to back away from him.

"Nazalie, What a pleasant surprise."

Nazalie got the vibe that the surprise wasn't at all pleasant. It didn't matter either way. After she was done with business here, they weren't going to see each other again.

"You know each other?" A similar-looking blonde haired man asked. Joshua ignored him and turned to face her.

"Could you leave us, please?"

"But, sir!" The blonde man protested, looking much like a petulant child. "The workers need to start work so we can finish in time…"

The look Joshua threw at him silenced him. He left quietly, glaring at her as he walked away.

"Might I ask what this is all about?" Joshua was folding his arms across his chest. Anyone else would have been intimidated, but not Nazalie.

"You can't destroy this building."

Joshua laughed, a cruel laugh. It sounded nothing like what she heard a few days ago.

"Don't tell me you came all the way from your house to tell me what I should and shouldn't do with my own building. You amuse me, Nazalie," he said, walking away. It was hard for her to catch up to him since his quick strides put more distance between them. "I'll buy it from you!" She finally yelled, giving up on catching up to him.

"You of all people know I don't need your money. And didn't you recently acquired that money?" He asked, raising an eyebrow suggestively.

Nazalie blushed, momentarily distracted from her mission. "You can't do that; I already bought this bakery."

"Oh, you did? How come my name is on the deed then?"

"Well, I was about to, until you swooped in and stole it from under me." Nazalie sighed, realizing how ridiculous she sounded. "Can't you let this one go? Can’t you find another bakery to demolish?"

She was begging now. Her pride seemed to have gone on a vacation. Nazalie saw his eyes soften a bit before his icy gaze met hers again.

"There are other buildings out there that you can buy. Why this one?"

They were close now, their chest almost touching. Nazalie couldn't recall when that had happened. They seemed to gravitate towards each other. She could feel the heat between them. She wanted him, and he wanted her.

She was looking at his perfectly shaped lips, she wanted to kiss them again. Then an idea came to her. He wasn't going to take her money, so she had one other option. "Let's make a deal."

"What deal?"

"I know we both enjoyed each other in bed, and I wouldn't mind sharing your bed for two weeks for the bakery's deed…"
