“I haven’t said a word,” she pointed out in pure innocence.

“You will,” he promised and returned to his explorations. His mouth blazed kisses along her exposed shoulder; he caught her long hair in his hand and pulled the kinky strands back to expose her throat fully to him. His breath fanned her all the way to the curve of her ears, and then he bent with an agonizing slowness so he could devour that, too.

He didn’t need to hold her down anymore; anticipation and full-throttle desire was a stronger leash. All ideas of wanting to run her hands against his skin evaporated.

"Finn, please."

He did not pay mind to her words or the torment he was dealing – his measured pace continued and she breathed a sigh of relief when he trailed lower. Wet lips grazed against puckered nipple but offered just a moment respite before it added to her hunger.

“Finn, please, I want you, please." Her words were delivered in a voice wracked by torturous aches without garnering a reaction from him. He merely tugged at the twin peaks, cupping her left breast with his large hands and sucked her. Her back arched impossibly off the bed. The force of it almost broke her mind, but he wasn’t finished.

He swallowed, eyes completely trained at her face, enjoying her undoing without being moved as she pleaded with her eyes, voice temporarily lost.

And then he was kissing her again, but with tenderness, and not the jarring emotion of just moments before. His hands were everywhere, sweeping down her sides and back up, moving lower and then away from her secret place. She was drenched with desire and she couldn’t even begin to plead with him. His mouth was dipping lower, to her collarbone, lower, finally, to the underside of her breast. She bucked beneath him again, mashing against his erection, but he was moving again before she could savor what he had done. He was above her, sweeping the hair from the sides of her face.

The thought would have startled her had she not been thinking about it all along, but there in that moment, it just seemed right. It just seemed like destiny that she was lying there in his arms.

Then without warning, he plunged into her. Her folds were drenched, slicking a smooth passage until he was buried deep within, but only for a moment. He pulled out until only his tip remained in her. She whimpered at the loss but he slammed back, driving her body forward with the force of his movement. She didn’t care, not when she was bearing down on him.

The slow dance continued with calculated moves that left her dazed and just at the cusp of her orgasm, she chased it relentlessly, but he was not kind enough to just hand it to her. She tried to quicken the pace, but his hands held her waist, controlling her movement, restricting them.

She could have wept.

Her passage rippled against him in wet spasms; he clenched his jaw and Kalilah did it again, this time completely intentional. His hands curled against her skin and became claws that couldn’t hold on hard enough, his measured strokes lost in a frenzy of movements, pounding in and out of her in a bid to slake their crazed desire. She bore down on him, her free hand raking his back in a private madness. When the climax hit her, she heard him call out her name, a far-away voice that couldn’t begin to find her in the abyss she had tumbled into.

Her body writhed uncontrollably and then exploded into charged pieces that rivaled a supernova in its heat. Right before she poured past pure bliss, it occurred to her that they still hadn’t used any protection during any of their escapades.Shit!

Finn closed the door of his office with a small smile on his face. A smile that an hour of haggling with marketing on the best form of advertising couldn’t break. There was only one person responsible for that smile and he had to admit she was his drug.

Last night had blown his mind and body, but this morning it reminded him of what he was fighting for.

“Are you sure this is what you want to do?” His lawyer, Michelle, was seated on the plush sofa in his office.

“I’m sure. Is everything in order?”

“It just needs your signature.”

“Perfect.” He collected the proffered paper, one glance at the heading and he felt the indecision gripping him again but he could not live like that forever.

“Wait, are you absolutely sure about this?” The lawyer looked at his employer with worried eyes. In her opinion, the man looked too much at ease considering what he was about to do. “There are going to be strong repercussions.”

“I hope so,” Finn replied as he signed the papers and handed them back. “Did you get the other papers? I’d like to have them sent along with this one.”

“I don’t understand why you have to…” but Finn cut off the words with one look.

“It’s not for you to understand.” Finn reiterated and walked toward his view, “just do as I’ve told you.” He was taking a leap of faith and hope that it all worked in his favor.

“I hope these papers bring you the fulfillment you rightly deserve. I apologize for everything that has happened in the past. You deserve a life that is lived on your own terms.

The tears rolled down her face with her completely oblivious to their existence. He had given her the annulment she had wanted. A gift; that was what he intended it to be. She was not going to accept it – not now, not ever – especially after the news she’d received earlier.

She reached for the second envelope and was shocked to see the deed to a building. It was the building where she had wanted to open her own organization. She was shocked. He gave her everything she had wanted and without even making a single demand on her. Setting her free to do exactly as she pleased. And she loved him for it, but she couldn’t accept none of it if he wasn’t a part of it.

She would live the life she always wanted; one untainted by her parents and their expectations. A life she was robbed of by her own naivety and fears. The thought galvanized her into action; she left the papers on the table and raced to her room. She had a million and one things to do, starting with Finn first.

Forty-five minutes later after finding out from Finn’s assistance where he was, she was running out of the door.

“How soon are you going to finish all those renovations and get the building in perfect working order?” Finn asked the short man who turned around in a slow circle to survey the building before returning to his starting point.
