Walter let out a hard breath and whispered, “Who did this to her?”He growled and clenched his fists.
Finally, her eyes slowly opened a slit.When she spotted Walter, her eyes opened wider and she gasped as she just stared at him.“Who are you and where am I?”she whispered.
Walter gazed into her amber eyes and he felt transfixed.Most people had blue or brown eyes, maybe hazel but her eyes were amber colored and she was beautiful.Bruises and all.Her face looked almost elfin, even covered in bruises he could see her sweetness.He leaned forward and whispered, “My name is Walter Meran and you were in the woods behind our home.I’m glad to see you’re awake and all but you picked a rather dangerous time to come calling.”
Now she looked panicked as her eyes widened and she tried to sit up.“I had to come and warn you.My brothers are right behind me.I had to come!”
“Your brothers?”Hondo asked as he came over to the sofa.“Who are your brothers?”
The woman closed her eyes and whispered, “Caleb and Jordan King.My name is Celina King.Our cousin Jonah disappeared last week and my brothers are coming here to find him.And if he’s dead, they are supposed to take revenge on the people that did it.”
Chapter Seven
Upon hearing this,Sergi looked over at Hondo.
Hondo just glared at the woman on his sofa.“Why did you come here to warn us?That doesn’t make any sense if you’re a King.”
Celina rubbed her head and explained it, “You may not believe me but I am nothing like my brothers or my cousin.What they are doing is just wrong.And I’ve always hated what they all stood for.But they take their orders from a man that scares the whole world, Ernesto Montoya.”
Sergi looked troubled as he asked, “They take their orders from Montoya directly?Not through Sean Evert?”
Celina nodded.“Well, his dog Sean, thinks he gives the orders but not to my brothers or my cousin.Montoya is a dangerous man.My brothers say that one day Montoya will give the order to slit Sean’s throat and they will gladly follow through with that order.Sean is getting too full of himself, Jordan says.”
“Do you or your brothers know what happened to Jonah?”Sergi asked.
Celina shook her head.“No, but that doesn’t matter to them.They’re trying to run someone down for Montoya but they can’t seem to find her anywhere and Montoya is getting pissed about that.”
“Who are they looking for, may I ask?”Sergi stared at her.
Celina shrugged.“Some woman named Isobel.I don’t know the whole story but she was working for Montoya’s brother and she simply disappeared one day.This area was the last place she was seen.So Jonah came here to try and find her then he disappeared as well.Jordan and Caleb are coming here to figure out what happened to him and find Isobel.”
“Isobel is dead,” Hondo told her coldly.“She came here to do her drug business and ended up tangling with a pack of wolves that tore her apart.”
Celina gasped and covered her mouth.“Oh, my God...”
Sergi shrugged.“I didn’t see what happened to her but the people who did see it have no reason to lie about it.”
