“Fuck,” he draws out. “I can’t wait for tonight.”
“Likewise, cowboy,” I rasp, before dragging myself away. “See you in a few hours.”
“I’ll be waiting,” he croaks. “I’ll be the one with the rock-hard cock.”
I snort. “Yeah, okay.”
And then I leave, before I do something I most definitely will regret.
Don’t mix business with pleasure. This is just a job. It isn’t supposed to be more.
I repeat those words over and over again as I head back to the cabin, but the fact that it smells like Cash when I walk inside only makes it worse.
Fuck. I’m in trouble.
Chapter 13
Jules
A few hours goes by in a flash and I find myself eagerly heading toward the barn for the video. I’m wearing my robe again, with nothing but some lingerie on beneath it. My shoes are the only thing out of place, but I’ll remove those once I’m in the safety of the scene room. This particular barn is newer than the others, apparently built just for this.
“Are you ready for this?” Ivy asks, carefully fluffing my hair as we walk.
“Yeah,” I answer. The single word is breathy, excited even, and Ivy knows me well enough to catch it.
She laughs. “I don’t blame you, girl. Hell, this is the first time I think I’ve ever been jealous of you. What I wouldn’t give to be the center of attention for these three.”
“I mean, they’re single,” I point out, ignoring the pang those words create in my chest.
“Yeah, right,” she says, rolling her eyes. “The way they look at you, it’s like I don’t even exist. Though I may just go into town after this scene tonight and see if I can find my own cowboy.” She wiggles her eyebrows.
“That sounds like a plan to me,” I tell her. “They mentioned a bar in town, some place called the Boot Skoot. Sounds right up your alley.”
“Fuck yeah it does.” She grins. “Gonna get my ass railed by a sexy cowboy, too. We can compare notes.”
Which we probably won’t. We don’t talk often about the intimate parts of my job, only when it applies to business or her doing her job. Sometimes she holds the camera when I need a specific angle at most and she handles my schedule on the daily. But . . . I haven’t had a friend in so long. Despite paying Ivy to be my personal assistant, we’ve become fast friends. I’m going to hold onto her for as long as she’ll let me.
“Deal!” I laugh, bumping shoulders with her.
It’s cozy inside the barn, warm enough to keep me from being cold as I step in. Cash is already there waiting for me in the center of the room, his eyes alight with excitement.
“Evenin’,” he offers, followed by a wink. “I’ve been waitin’ all day for you.”
“I bet you have,” I tease, waving at Oak who stands over in the corner with the computers. “You filming?”
He nods. “I’ve got the cameras set up for edits and then I’ll be moving around with the live feed camera to capture different angles.” He points to the screen. “This is where the comments will come in. They have to pay to ask a truth or a dare. Dares are more expensive. It’ll pop up on the top in order of request.”
“You guys really have this all figured out, don’t you?” I say, impressed. Our setup isn’t even half this good and we’ve been doing it for years.
“A bit,” he replies. “It makes it easier if it’s all accounted for.”
I nod and move over to the plush bed they’d arranged in the middle of the room. It’s rustic styled, the solid wood headboard standing out amongst the sleek modern room. “This is nice.”
“Sorry it doesn’t fit your aesthetic—” Cash starts.
“Nonsense. I’m the guest here. This is your scene.” I shrug. “Clearly, the subs like it, so there’s nothing wrong with it.”
Cash grins before coming up to me. “Any boundaries?”
