"I can't wait," I said breathlessly. Somehow, I thought the topic had shifted from correction and spanking, to sexual. I felt the energy in the room go from teasing to hot in a blink. And I wanted them. Now.
"There's another ritual we need to do," I said, feeling brazen. "I need you all. Need you inside me."
Axel leaned forward, brushing his lips against mine. "We thought you'd never ask."
My stomach did a little flip of anticipation when a female voice cleared her throat.
"Party time later," my sister said sweeping into the room. "Don't you ever scare me like that again."
"Dawn? How—"
"Your text message came through and despite your phone call that everything was fine, I had to come to see for myself." She huffed. “Besides, I couldn’t believe that these guys offered you an internship and you didn’t immediately call me screaming in joy, so I knew something was up.”
I smiled at my younger sister who sometimes acted like a mom more than our real mother. We hugged and the guys slipped from the room to give us some privacy.
"So what color is your wolf?"
"Huh?" I couldn't believe I heard her right. The guys wouldn't have told her, would they have? I mean it wasn't something humans were aware of outside fiction and then there was the issue of the hunters.
"Don't look so shocked." She brushed a hand through her brown hair. "When I couldn't get ahold of you, I hired a private investigator. Then Mom freaked out and I couldn't understand why, and she told me everything. So, I called off the search once you talked to me over the phone and said you were okay."
"I'm more than okay." I squeezed her hand. Glad I didn't have to hide that I was a werewolf from her. She was my sister and my best friend, she'd have figured out something was up and bug me until I confessed. But I didn't want secrets between us.
"Three guys... do they have triplet cousins anywhere that look as hot as them?"
I laughed, shaking my head. "No idea, but we can ask."
A knock sounded on the open door, and I looked up into Mom's tear-stained face.
Dawn hugged me again, whispering in my ear, "We'll talk more later."
Our mom waited until Dawn left us alone before she came all the way into the room and sat on the foot of the bed. "I'm sorry, Brook." She stared at the blanket; her hands clasped in her lap. "I thought I was doing the right thing by keeping your identity and the truth about your father secret. That no one could hurt you if I did—but I see now that my actions hurt you even more."
I wanted to yell at her, to tell her that she was wrong in what she'd done. But then I thought about how lost I felt inside when Axel had been hurt. How the mere idea of him or Drake or Nathan dead would have frozen my heart in my chest. How no amount of time or even magic would've healed me inside. And I could see that happening to my mom. How it pained her to look at me and see the resemblance of my dad in me. How she probably wasn't even aware that she had always kept me at arm's length.
"I forgive you." Tossing the covers back, I reached her and hugged her. "I love you, Mom."
Her tears wracked her body as we held each other, and I mourned for I'd lost over the years but held onto the hope that from now on we'd have each other. That we could start again and mend our relationship with patience and time.
After a few minutes, Mom pulled back, rubbing her face. "Maybe you and your boyfriends can join us for Sunday dinner sometime."
"I'd love that." I let out a shaky laugh. Never thought my mom would be okay with all of this. "We'll see you next week?"
She nodded and gave me a quick hug before leaving. I sat down on the bed, feeling a little woozy and I was sure it wasn't just from getting shot and dealing with the hunters. For once in my life, I felt like everything was falling into place. That I'd gotten a winning hand. And I couldn't wait to see what the future held for me and my men.

After Dawn and Mom left, I locked the door and leaned against it, staring at the three handsome men before me. My heart squeezed in my chest that they were mine and I was theirs. Never in a million years could I have guessed this for myself. After all, I'd been just Brook, a waitress with long legs and white hair.
Now I was a werewolf and part of an amazing pack.
"What do you want to do now, little wolf?" Axel stalked closer to me with the other two following his lead.
"Well." I licked my lips, feeling daring and powerful with these three men looking at me like I was a delectable dessert they wanted to gobble up. And I was going to savor every second of it. "You promised me lots of things, but I've yet to see any evidence."
Axel closed the distance between us, his mouth on mine before I could finish my gasp. His big hands slid down my sides and hooked into the hem of my pants, giving me a hard tug into his muscled body. He nipped at my bottom lip while his fingers trailed along my bare skin just under my waistband. With one kiss, I was already breathless and yearning for more.
“How wet can you get for us?” he asked in a rough voice, nibbling along my collarbone.
