The bouncer gave a mock salute. "Got it, Sam."
He turned them away and was walking toward the door, but Jordyn stopped them before they reached it. "What was that?" she asked, looking behind them to where the men were now picking up Trent and moving to take him out the back door. "What am I supposed to say if the cops show up asking?"
"He was harassing her. Go from there."
"Sam, you can't go punching people!" Jordyn exploded, and Lily cringed at the panicked tone in the woman's voice.
"It was my fault. He was here because of me. I'll answer questions if anyone comes asking," she offered.
Sam shook his head. "No, Lily. You aren't going to be touched by this. Not anymore. You're done with that man."
"But, Sam, this is my mess. I can't let you get in trouble."
Jordyn stopped her. "That man was definitely bothering you." She sucked in a deep breath and nodded her head, running a hand through her hair. "I may have been excited when I came over here." Sam snorted at Jordyn's word choice, and the woman rolled her eyes at him. "But you don't deserve to be bothered by that trash anymore. Sam is right. I didn't see anything; no one did, and if he comes back, that's the story."
"Even if he brings the cops?" Lily whispered.
Jordyn gave her a quick nod. "Even then. You're part of the Burgundy family. That's what happens when you shack up with the boss man. We got your back, Lily Bell." Jordyn hugged her tightly and squeezed her shoulders reassuringly. "You're in with us now, girl, and there's no going back."
"You mean that?" Lily asked, touched by Jordyn's willingness to take up for her.
Jordyn waved a hand. "Oh, yeah. I texted you my number, remember? I was going to force my friendship on you, no matter what." She flicked a finger between herself and Lily. "This just makes that whole thing a lot easier and faster for me, so thanks on that one, Sam."
Sam husked out a laugh and looped his arm around Lily's waist. "So glad our relationship is useful to your plans, Jordyn."
"Me too. Anyway, we'll handle it. Get out of here and go have the sex you very clearly are going to have, and, no, I am not jealous at all about that."
"You're too much sometimes, Jordy," Sam told her.
"So I hear, boss man. My Dom is out there still, so off I go. Catch ya later!" She wiggled her fingers at them and then turned on her heel sashaying away.
Lily blinked, watching Jordyn leave. "Wait, did she just say Dom?"
Sam nodded and opened the door for them. "She did."
"So that means she doesn't think I'm, I mean, we, ah, are—
"Weird?" he asked and then laughed. "No. Not at all, even if that asshole tried to out you to a club full of strangers. You're safe at the club. Don't worry about it. Jordyn is a very good friend for you."
"Yeah, I kind of get that sense too. I'm excited about spending time with her."
"So long as it's not more than the time you're with me," Sam teased her. She rolled her eyes and bumped her hip against his.
"I probably shouldn't tell you this, but it was really sexy when you punched him."
Sam's fingers dipped below the shirt she was wearing and he skimmed his fingertips along her skin. "Just wait until we finally get home."
"What's that mean?" she asked, even though she knew exactly what she was doing. But it was only fair, given the state of her body and mind after witnessing Sam going toe-to-toe with her ex-Dom.
He turned her toward him, hands on her waist and body pressed flush against hers. "It means that I'm going to take you apart, piece by piece, all spread out on my bed for me like an early Christmas present. I'm going to take it slow, so slow, you beg me to speed up, but I won't."
"You won't?" Lily squeaked.
Sam grinned and ran his nose along the side of her jaw before he kissed her cheek. "No, no matter how much you beg, no matter how pretty you are for me, I won't," he kissed her ear, "go," his mouth moved again, dropping kisses on her skin with each word, "any faster."
"Oh god." Her eyes drifted closed, and Lily had to give herself a mental shake to remember that they were, in fact, outside and that she didn't think the law took kindly to public sex.
"We need to go," she said after sucking in a deep breath. Nothing else particularly mattered if they were together, if they were home with nothing stopping them from exploring the next level of their relationship.
"We do. Get in the car." He nodded to the side, and it was only then that Lily realized they were beside his car. How much had her hormones addled her awareness? She shook her head, not much caring so long as she was in the car and on her way to Sam's house—no, their house.
Their house had such a nice ring to it.
