He sipped his coffee. "But what?"

"There's nothing you want to add?" she prodded, hoping for an answer to her question. He smiled and picked up her fork, handing it to her.

"Eat. I'll talk?" he asked, and she nodded, eagerly snatching the fork from him. "That's better," he said once she had eaten a bite of her pancakes. "Now that you're eating, I can relax some and think on what you asked about—"

"If we were going to be sexual," she interrupted around a mouthful of bacon.

"You shouldn't talk with your mouth full," Sam told her, and she ducked her head.

"Sorry," Lily murmured and then gave him an apologetic look when she realized she was once more talking with food in her mouth. He laughed and sipped his coffee before cutting into his own breakfast.

"Do you want our arrangement to be sexual?" he asked.

Unable to talk because of her full mouth, Lily nodded vigorously, and Sam chuckled. "I see that's a yes."

"Big yes," she said once she had swallowed her food and took a quick drink of her orange juice. "Do you?"

Sam sucked on his bottom lip and looked up at the ceiling. "Yes," he said, a smile on his face. "I do want to end up there with you." He looked at her and gave her a serious look. "But only if you're comfortable. Only if it feels right."

"It will," she told him.

Everything had felt right with Sam, and Lily was of the opinion that just like the rest, sex and intimacy would fall in line. She was sure of it.

"I'm glad you feel that way, but you gotta know I'm not big into pain."

His words put Lily at ease, and she blew out a relieved sigh. "Good, because I hate it. I hate punishments and spankings. I want to be a good girl."

"You are a good girl."

She blushed, and the smile on her face was undisguisable. "Thank you."

"I want you to call me Sir for now. Daddy will come later, but for now, until you get used to me and what I expect, call me Sir."

She nodded. "I can do that."

"My rules are simple and few, easy to follow for a little girl like you," he said. Sam crossed his arms and pushed his stool away from the bar so that he could face her. "One, you are never to put yourself in danger or unnecessary risk."

"What qualifies as danger?" Lily asked, popping the rest of the bacon she had into her mouth.

"Anything that has your health at risk, and I meant that in terms of emotional, physical, and mental. There's no playing with your wellbeing, and as your caregiver, you are to trust me when I tell you the line is being crossed. Do you understand?"

She nodded rather than spoke as she chewed, and Sam nodded in approval.

"Second, no excessive alcohol consumption or illegal substances. If it alters your state of mind, you are to have a limit, and I set that limit. No more than two glasses of alcohol because I can tell by the look on your face that you're going to ask."

She blew out a sigh. "Okay, fine."

"Third, honesty is key between us. If you are uncomfortable, if you have something to tell me, ever, about anything. I want you to know that you can talk to me. I'm your friend, Lily, I am your caregiver, andI will be your Daddy. You're safe with me."

She shivered. He would be her Daddy. He wanted to be her lover. How the hell had she ended up here with him? In his house with breakfast made and him telling her every perfect thing she could imagine? This was a fairytale, a dream that she never wanted to wake up from.

"Okay," she managed, not trusting herself to speak.

"Four, you trust my decisions and judgment when it comes to big decisions. I won't ever ask you to do anything that sets you up for failure. I only want the best for you, Lily Bell, and that means I'm going to give you only the best opportunities. When I do that, you will trust me."

Only the best for her. God, she didn't even know what to do with that, so she nodded instead of trusting herself to speak again.

"And finally, if anyone approaches you and makes you uncomfortable, you tell me."
