"Thank you," Lily murmured, fingers tightening onto the phone briefly before the two women said their goodbyes. They would meet at Sam's house, with the performance looking like it would run late. Lily begged off the call when Ashley began to make grand plans that included herself and Sam. The poor man didn't even have a say in being roped into what felt like a matchmaking scheme.
She felt sorry for him that he didn't have a chance to bow out and vowed that she wouldn't impose on this man, well, as little as she could when he was taking her to his house with the intent of helping her find a new place to stay.
