“I could, but I’ve never used my powers on you unless I’m bringing you food. I couldmakeyou want to marry me, but I won’t. I haven’t used my powers on any of you except Felix.”
“I never said thank you for making him a full warlock again. Never tell him I said this, but the cock on his face is hilarious.”
Reyson let out this rumble as he chuckled.
“My lips are sealed. And you’re welcome. I should thank you for letting me witness your moment. I apologize for bursting in on you, but I smelled your arousal and couldn’t help it.”
That should have been so weird, but oddly, it wasn’t. Because as soon as he arrived, it got fucking hotter.
“I didn’t mind. I enjoyed you watching.”
I expected him to bring up joining us or the two of us having sex. Any other guy would. Except Reyson wasn’t any other guy. He tightened his arms around me and sighed.
“This is nice.”
He was content to just hold me for now, and that was just so bizarre to me.
“Explain the whole god thing to me. What’s that like?”
“It is everything at once, but it’s also a burden. I didn’t get a childhood like you did. I just…was one day. I was a fully formed being. There was nothing there except a few others like me. Eventually, we started creating and made Earth. We thought it our most incredible creation, and we loved it for a time.
“We loved the adoration and praise people threw our way, but with that came the blame and scorn. Things have to happen to balance the universe. For instance, in a few days, I’m going to have to send a riot to the East to balance the scales. I didn’t want to tell you this because I was afraid you would judge me, but I want to be honest with you.”
Reyson was something else. He could be a pain in the ass and a horrible library guest, but he was a good guy, even if he was sending a riot somewhere. I craned my head up at him, and his eyes were closed like he was waiting for me to yell at him.
“I get you have duties as a god, Reyson. I’m not angry at you for what you have to do. Do you regret not having a childhood?”
I couldn’t imagine what that was like. He was pretty fascinating. Ravyn would love to pick his brain about all the civilizations he’d seen in the past. Fuck, I wanted to know that too.
“I can’t say I do since I don’t know what it would be like. I know one thing, though. Some of my siblings have had children. Like Gabriel is a descendent of Lucifer, some are descended from my people. I’d like to have children of my own.”
I couldn’t imagine Reyson as a father. I mean, he went around putting dicks on cat’s faces and thought fart jokes on television were hilarious. But yeah, maybe I could see it. He’d been nothing but patient and gentle with me thus far.
“Will you have to leave when you cause the riot in the East?”
Reyson just smirked.
“Why? Will you miss me, my witch?”
I swatted at his chest. Yeah, actually, I would. He was growing on me. His chest would make this pleasant rumble when he would chuckle. He started tickling me! I shrieked and tried to fight him off.
“I think you will miss me, my witch,” he growled, his fingers flying up and down my ribs.
“Yes! Yes, I’ll miss you!” I hollered as I tried to catch my breath.
Reyson immediately let me go and pulled me to his chest.
“Well, that was all you had to say.”
“Dick.”
“Did you want to touch it? I didn’t think you were ready for that, but I won’t complain.”
I actually kind of did. I saw it through his trousers when he kicked the door in.
A girl could have a good time with that. I didn’t want to rush this and ruin it. I could have a good thing with Reyson. I could have a good thing with all of them. Gabriel wasn’t overtly hitting on me, but I liked him. I nuzzled my face on Reyson’s chest.
“Can we just take things slowly?”
