My gaze goes down to myself. “Do you think so? I didn’t want to go over the top, but I want him to think I’m pretty.”

She steps out of her heels and opens her locker. “You look hot! He’s gonna love you. Knock him dead, girl!”

I smile and head toward the door. “I’m nervous, I’ve never done this kind of thing before with a patron, but there’s just something about him I can’t resist.”

Donna laughs. “Well, judgin’ by the way people were hoverin’ around him tonight and walking over to his section. I’m gonna say you aren’t the only one. I made shit for tips.”

I frown as I go over and clock out at the computer. “I’m sorry.”

She shakes her head. “Ain’t your fault, darlin’, it’s not like you brought him here to take my tips. Besides, I have a guy who wants my services.” She wiggles her brows. “You go get yourself some.”

I remember the schedule she has tomorrow off from here. “I’ll see you Thursday, Donna. Have a good day off.”

Leaving her, I head back out to the floor. It feels strange to be out here in normal clothes. I’ve come to the Bellagio when I’m not working, but I’ve never come here for the Casino side of things. It’s normal for my free meal with Mary, or if we’re lucky the casino will give out discounts to one of the shows around the holidays. I’ve come here to see Cirque du Soleil’s “O” a few times. It’s incredible and so beautiful.

Knox stands off to the side of the casino floor. Even with being around him for the last six hours, he’s still a sight to behold. I want to rip his shirt open and see the muscles I’ve been getting little peeks at all night. His gaze meets mine as I walk toward him and a grin spreads along his lips.

He runs a hand over his hair. “You look incredible.” Reaching out, he runs his fingers along my arm and down to my hand. His fingers hook around mine and are warm and soft.

I finally get to touch him. I’m no longer in uniform, so as far as the casino is concerned, I’m just another patron. I hold his hand back. “Thank you and I can finally say this without fear I’ll get in trouble for coming on to you. You look very handsome. I’ve wanted to do this all night.” I let go of his hand to touch his bulging chest. It’s just as hard as I thought it would be.

I stare up into his eyes and he leans down closer. “And I’ve wanted to do this since last night.” His fingers move into my hair cupping the back of my neck as he captures my lips. I stand on my toes to meet him even more. I may be a virgin, but I’m no stranger to kissing. I’ve never felt one like this before. His lips feel incredible. I press myself into his body and wrap my arms around his neck. The spicy scent of his cologne envelops me, and I feel like we’re in our own little world.

His hands travel down to my waist and he holds me closer. His tongue ghosts over my lower lip and I part for him, letting him delve his tongue onto my mouth. The sweet plums from the red wine he drank tonight still linger on his it as he swirls it with mine.

My core aches with need as my hands travel down to his chest and slip through the opening of his shirt to feel his hot skin under my touch. He breaks the kiss and looks around before his gaze goes to mine. “I was hoping to take you out, but right now I want to take you to my room.”

I nod and bite at my lip. “I want you to take me to your room, too.”

His hand moves up my arm again and takes my hand into his. He leads me away from the casino area and across the entrance to where the gold elevators are. A guard stands in front of them and next to a scanner. Only people with a room are allowed past this point. He takes his room key out of his pocket and scans it at the sensor. The guard doesn’t even look at me as we pass him. I hardly ever come through the front of the resort for work, so he might not even realize I work here.

Not that it matters. I’m not in my uniform. They can’t say shit because it’s none of their business.

Knox leads me to the elevators he needs for his room and hits a button. It opens right away and we hurry inside before someone decides they want to join us. He scans his key again and hits the button for the thirtieth floor. I arch a brow. That’s the floor with the penthouses, which aren’t cheap. What in the world does this man do for work to be able to afford one of those? I could only afford a night in one single room, and that’s only if I decide I don’t need to eat for a week.

As soon as the elevator starts to ascend he pins me against the wall and kisses me deeply again. Now that I don’t have to worry about people around us, I let out a moan.

I stand on my toes and his hands run down to the back of my thighs where his fingers encourage me to lift my legs. I do so, and he lifts me, wrapping them around his waist. The bulge of his erection presses into me and I whimper.

My hands travel over his shoulders before wrapping around his neck. He breaks the kiss and trails his lips along my jaw and down to my neck. His teeth scrape across my pulse point nipping at it. The slight pain sends a thrill through me and down to my clit. I grip him tighter. I didn’t expect it to feel so good.

“You smell so good. Like cookies and the beach,” he whispers in my ear before he presses my earlobe between his lips. My toes curl.

The doors open and he doesn’t even hesitate to carry me out of it, acting as if I weigh nothing to him. This is such a turn-on. I glance around. No one is up here, which isn’t surprising considering the average person wouldn’t be able to afford the penthouse for more than a night, and he has it until Friday.

He scans his card at the door and opens it. I hold onto him as we enter the room, lit only by the lights coming in through the window from the city. He carries me through the room and around a half wall where the king-sized bed stands on the other side facing the windows that overlook the fountains down below.

I catch a glimpse of them dancing in the lights and smile. I’ve always loved them for so many reasons. As he lowers me onto the bed, my gaze turns to his face. I can’t see much of it with his back to the window, and I wish we could turn on the lights. I’m not shy, and I want to be able to feast my eyes upon him.

Kicking off my shoes, I scoot backward up the bed and reach over to flip the switch on the wall. Illuminating the room as he’s reaching up to undo the buttons of his shirt. He arches a brow. “Want the lights on, huh? Most women don’t.”

I lean back onto the plush pillows, and I grin. “I have nothing to hide, and I have no doubt you’re a sight to behold that I don’t want to miss.”

Knox pushes the shirt off his arms, revealing his torso and bulging biceps. My gaze goes to a tattoo of back roman numerals and a cross over his right pec. I was never good at reading them in school, so I have no idea what they say. But the cross makes me think it might be the date of someone’s death or perhaps birth. He licks his lips. “Well, do you like what you see, Carissa?”

I shiver at the sound of my name coming out of his deep voice.

I nod and rub my thighs together, trying to relieve some of the ache there. “So much.”
