Groaning, I leaned down and claimed my woman’s mouth.
CHAPTER THIRTEEN
EVE
A shiver ran down my spine. This was really happening. I told him I loved him. I did it.
I’d feared he wouldn’t want me back, not like this, but his words had blown anything I pictured out of the water and eased my body into a frenzied state of need, want, and happiness.
Quake was mine.
No, Kayson was mine.
Every inch.
My heart hammered against my ribs, like it wanted to break free to be with his.
Could he feel how erratic it was?
Did he know he drove me wild with the way his tongue teased and twined with mine?
This felt different than all those quick romps in our bedrooms.
This was more.
It was the start of us.
Sliding my hands up his chest, I moaned into the kiss.
A need so strong to have him closer clawed at me.
We only pulled apart to catch our breath.
“Quake—Kayson,” I quickly fixed, which made him smile and his eyes warm.
“Yeah, sweetheart?”
I scraped my top teeth over my bottom lip, my stomach fluttering when I was about to be so bold. “It’s been a very long time.”
“It has.”
“And?”
He reached up to tuck some of my red hair behind my ear. “Did I tell you this colour is?—”
I groaned. “We’re not talking about my hair.”
He smirked. “Then you need to eat breakfast.”
“I had a protein shake earlier.”
“Maybe I need to eat.”
He hadn’t had breakfast. He loved his food and was always in the kitchen, so I was surprised he hadn’t had two platefuls already.
“Okay, we can—” I let out a gasp when he picked me up.
“I didn’t say what I was gonna eat.”
