And in that quiet, flashes of my childhood drifted through my mind.

I let out a deep sigh, hoping Storm would make it through this without too much damage, if not for his own sake, then at least for our parents. They didn’t deserve more heartache from another one of their kids.

Ever since River ran out, Dad had carried this weight of guilt on his shoulders, like every failure or struggle we faced somehow came back to him. I always thought he took on too much of that burden, though I knew how much he loved us and how deeply he cared.

So I clenched my fists and whispered,

"Please, Fate… let things start going right for us. Let this be a rising tide, not another ebb. Let my brothers find some peace. Let Dad stop worrying, just for once."

I felt kind of ridiculous, like a little kid again, praying to the sky while standing alone by the lake.

When I looked up, the firmament was pale and blue, calm, distant, yet somehow wrapping around me like soft, weightless arms.

My heart felt heavy, but I pulled myself back to the present. I had to get moving. I needed to get home. Kay might already be waiting, and I couldn’t risk being late, no matter what kind of mess my family was in.

So I picked up my pace and started heading toward Adam’s land.

???

I got to the house around 9:40 am, eager to check on Kay, but way too sweaty to do it comfortably. I didn’t want to stink while Kay smelled like fresh-cut jasmine and vanilla dessert, so I headed straight for the shower as soon as I stepped inside.

The moment I came out of the bathroom, I saw Adam waiting for me, his eyes wide again, that same puppy-like look on his face.

"Uh… Rain, Kay needs you now," he said, looking embarrassed.

"Oh." That was awkward. His own brothers acting as go-betweens for Kay’s sexual needs felt… off. Clearing my throat, I added, "I haven’t eaten yet, so I might not exactly be at peak performance."

"Can you grab something quick? He really needs you." Adam seemed genuinely flustered.

I sighed, bit my lip, and headed to the kitchen. I downed two yogurts and a glass of orange juice. As I walked past Adam, who was still watching me expectantly, I made a face. He responded in kind. Then I went upstairs and walked into Kay’s room without knocking.

The scent of jasmine and vanilla hit me right away. The wave was in full swing.

Kay was naked and curled up on the bed, his ass facing the door. His entrance was swollen and slightly open already.

As soon as he heard me, he turned his head, looking at me with a flushed, sweaty face.

"I’m sorry. I was jogging around the lake. I didn’t realize the loop was that long."

He didn’t respond, but I didn’t wait. I pushed him onto his stomach and pressed my mouth to his throbbing entrance. Kay moaned as my tongue slid inside him, brushing against his inner walls. I slurped up his sweet slick, not holding back the noises I made while doing it.

"Please…" There it was again, his soft, needy plea mixed with some strangely seductive tone that sent heat rushing through me.

But it also made me want to tease him again, so I leaned in close and whispered,

"Did you use a dildo while you were waiting for me, Kay? Did you slide it up your pretty hole? Did you cheat on me with a soulless piece of rubber?"

"No," he breathed out.

I rubbed my dick over his slick entrance, teasing it, pushing in just an inch, then pulling back out.

"Did this pink beauty wait for me like a good, obedient hole should?"

"Gosh, your dirty talk is just awful."

"Do I suck your dick better than I talk?"

A soft sound, almost a chuckle, but not quite.
