But because of that slight tug in my shoulder, I gave up on the idea of putting on a shirt.

Walking half-naked like that, I went out of the room and headed straight to Kay’s.

The door was ajar, and I stopped, frozen.

Kay was sitting on the edge of his bed, fully focused on building… a nest!

My breath caught in my chest as a wave of happiness surged through me. It was such a beautiful, welcome sight; Kay was nesting for thefirst timesince I’d come to their house.

Was something in him… healing?

The nest wasn’t quite finished yet; only one side had been woven, but it was a beginning, maybe even a breakthrough, reflecting a shift in the energy between us. In a way, the nest mirrored our relationship, something new was emerging, opening toward an uncharted future.

One detail was especially touching. Kay had woven my T-shirt into the nest wall!

As I stared at it, I realized Kay had sensed me behind him. He turned back, noticing my gaze fixed on the nest, and his cheeks blushed deeply.

"What are you doing?" he asked, his voice carrying a hint of nervousness.

"Nothing, baby," I murmured, sensing he was still self-conscious about the nest and respecting that he might not be ready to talk about it. I could feel it through the Bond: his shyness and hesitation. Nesting was something so deeply private and intimate for Kay that having a conversation about it would require something even stronger between us, a closeness built over a long time.

"I’m just admiring how beautiful you are…" I finished the sentence gallantly, then hesitated and added in a more possessive tone, "Mygorgeous omega."

A pink flush crept up Kay’s neck and spread across his cheeks. It was the first time I’d called him that. My claim on him became tangible, radiating through the room like a wave of energy, like an invisible pulse, wrapping around him.

Kay’s lashes lowered slightly as he looked at me, his gaze almost seductive.

"I’ll make you some breakfast, my prince!"

I said with a wink, came closer, and leaned down to kiss his cheek gently.

But then he made a quick twist of his neck, and his lips suddenly brushed against mine.

"Thank you…" he whispered.

Just as I was about to leave the room, I paused, glancing to the side.

My eyes fell on his tablet sitting on the nightstand. There was a new drawing on it, possibly freshly started.

Suddenly, I remembered what I’d noticed during our dramatic stop at the grocery store.

"Hey, Kay… um, I wanted to ask about something. Yesterday I saw a drawing on your tablet screen when you left it in the car. It wasn’t off. A portrait. A beautiful one. I really don’t deserve to be drawn like that. My lashes aren’t that long, and my lips definitely aren’t that perfectly shaped," I said with a fleeting smile.

Kay was once again leaning over his nest, but hearing that, he jerked his head up, and his cheeks turned bright red as he noticed me looking at his drawing.

"Oh. You saw that."

"Yeah, you forgot to turn the screen off. It was amazing."

Kay was quiet for a second, then suddenly leaned to the side and grabbed the tablet from the nightstand. "That’s just one of many, Rain. Since you already saw that one, you might as well see the rest."

"Many?" I raised my eyebrows.

Surprised, I sat down next to him and looked at the screen as he flipped through a series of portraits, each one of me, in different poses and moments.

Looking out the window. Sleeping. Sitting at my laptop.

Staring, I swallowed hard and checked the date on the first one and froze. It was from the second day after I arrived in White Cliffs.
