“I know,” he smiled back with a nod. “Get some rest, Trisha. You’ve earned it.”

I nodded, thanking him. “Good night, Boss.”

As Ayaan left, I debated whether to intervene now or come back later. Deciding to meet with Krish immediately, I barged into his room and shut the door behind me.

The moment the door click shut, Krish shouted from inside the bathroom.

“Ayaan, are you still there? If yes, pass me a towel, please. I forgot to take it.”

I sighed, imagining how someone could forget to grab a towel before showering. Opening his closet, I fetched a towel and first locked the bedroom door, ensuring no one would see me inside. After all, we were in the Shergill Mansion, and our relationship was still a secret.

“Ayaan, don’t tell me you didn’t find that silly towel in my closet. You need to check your eyesight, buddy,” Krish mocked from the bathroom.

I held back a chuckle, realising he had no idea it was me and not Ayaan in the room. Knocking softly on thebathroom door, I waited for him to extend his hand to grab the towel before playfully pulling it away.

“Ayaan, what the f*ck? I’m dripping wet here. Give me the towel. Play these tricks with your partner, not me,” Krish groaned in frustration.

“I’m doing the same, Krish...” I replied, unable to resist teasing him further.

The moment he heard my voice, he peeked his head out from behind the bathroom door, his eyes gleaming with mischief as he laid eyes on me.

“What are you doing here?” he asked, a hint of surprise in his tone.

“I wanted to discuss something very important,” I explained, handing him the towel. “Come out soon.”

Instead of taking the towel, Krish grabbed my hand and pulled me toward the door. Surprised by his sudden move, I managed to shrug off his hold and pass him the towel.

“Krish, what are you doing? Come out soon. I want to get out of this dress too.”

With a roguish grin, he shut the bathroom door, leaving me waiting for him in his room. I couldn’t help but grin at his playfulness.

A few minutes later, the bathroom door opened, and Krish emerged, a towel wrapped loosely around his waist, beads of water glistening on his toned physique. My breath caught in my throat as I drank in the sight of him, desire pooling in my belly.

“Now, what was so important that you had to barge into my room?” he asked, his voice low and teasing as he closed the distance between us.

I opened my mouth to speak, but the words seemed to evaporate on my tongue as he drew nearer, his masculine scent and raw presence rendering me momentarily speechless.

Krish chuckled, clearly aware of the effect he was having on me. “Cat got your tongue, Agent Chaudhary?”

Regaining my composure, I swatted his arm playfully. “Don’t be cocky, Director. I wanted to discuss my involvement in the upcoming mission against the Bat gang.”

His expression sobered, and he nodded, understanding dawning in his eyes. “I see. And what did you have in mind?”

“I want to be an active participant,” I stated firmly. “I’m not just Meher’s bodyguard; I’m a trained GLEN agent. I can contribute, Krish. Let me help take down those who threatened our lives.”

Krish regarded me silently for a moment, his brow furrowed in contemplation. Finally, he sighed, reaching out to tuck a stray strand of hair behind my ear.

“You know how I feel about putting you in harm’s way, Trisha.”

“And you know I’m more than capable of handling myself,” I countered, leaning into his touch. “We’re partners, Krish. In every sense of the word. Let me have your back on this, the way you’ve had mine.”

He studied me intently, his eyes searching mine for any trace of doubt or hesitation. Finding none, he nodded slowly.

“Alright. We’ll go over the details together and figure out how best to utilise your skills.”

Relief and excitement coursed through me, and before I could stop myself, I flung my arms around his neck, pulling him into a fierce embrace.

“Thank you,” I whispered, pressing a grateful kiss to the corner of his mouth.
