Now he was just teasing. He couldn’t know that. Right?

He gathered up some things from the kitchen and walked through the living room again.

“Daddy, what are you doing?” she asked.

“Getting some toys for your bath,” he explained. “You can come and get ready now.”

Alice picked up Lola. “What do you think, Lola? He’s doing well, isn’t he?”

Lola looked pleased. Well, that was good. She was a very picky mouse.

Getting up, she moved into the bathroom. Anson was sitting on the closed toilet lid with his sore leg straight out in front of him. “Come here, Little girl.”

She moved between his thighs and he grabbed the bottom of the t-shirt that she wore and lifted it over her head. It was one of his shirts. A new, clean one. Then he reached for her panties and she helped him take them off.

“Hold my hand while you climb in,” he said as he stood.

There was a flash of pain on his face.

“Are you okay, Daddy?”

“Yeah. I just wish I could lift you up and place you in the bath. Or carry you on my hip. Or move without being stiff and sore.”

“I do too, Daddy,” she said. “But that doesn’t mean that you can’t be an awesome Daddy.”

“No?” he said.

She shook her head. “Of course, you’d be an even better Daddy if you didn’t make me eat yucky vegetables.”

He slapped her ass. “Get in the bath, baby.”

Chapter Twenty-One

“What is this, Daddy?”

Anson glanced over to find Alice poking at the pumpkin on her plate suspiciously.

“It’s pumpkin.”

“Looks like baby food. I’m not a baby, Daddy.”

“It’s not baby food. And I happen to know you like pumpkin because you had pumpkin soup the other day for lunch.”

She scrunched up her nose.

Damn. It was going to be difficult to be firm with her when she was acting this cute.

However, he knew that remaining firm and sticking to his word was important. So she needed to eat her veggies.

“Do you want me to feed them to you, baby?” he asked.

She’d spent an hour playing in the bath with the kitchen utensils he’d found for her. He had made a mental note to order some bath toys. He’d bought some other things for her for Christmas. They should be arriving at Joey’s place tomorrow. They’d never have arrived on time if he’d had them posted here.

“No, Daddy. I have this.”

“Good girl.”

“Can I have another drink of water, though? Please?”
