My mate is rejecting me.
“If you won’t leave, then I will.”
Before I can say a word, she zips away, leaving her business to try to get away from me. Shrugging, I help myself to the cherry cheesecake.
She’s mine, whether she wants to be or not.
But one thing about me?
I like the chase.
I also like the fight, which is precisely why I head to Chaos. It’s time to beat the shit out of someone while I plan my next move.
I’m coming for you, little one.
Peach
Tears stream down my cheeks as I run from my fated mate. I know everyone is terrified of Salem.
Why would the fates match him with a sweet little baker?
The truth? I’m the one they should be scared of.
And if I’m with Salem, I’m going to have to face the truth of that, which I’m not ready for.
Denial is a nice place, right?
I might have to stay here for a while.
Chapter 1
Salem
Right on time, Peach walks up to her bakery door, pulls out her key, and unlocks it. She’s wearing a green dress that enticingly wraps around her body, and her red hair is piled high on her head, with a few wisps framing her face. Every inch of her is temptation sculptured to perfection, and when she bends over to pick up something that she’s dropped, my mouth waters.
I’ve been stalking her for the last week, ever since she left me, learning everything about her.
Her routine.
Her likes and dislikes.
I know that baking makes her happy, and she’s very social.
She’s bubbly.
Bright.
Cheerful.
Everything that I’m not.
I couldn’t have been given a more opposite female if they tried.
The fates always liked to play games with me.
She smiles widely, welcoming customers into her shop, not knowing that I’ve bought one of the apartments across the road and have been watching her every move. She looks a little too fucking happy, considering the circumstances.
How is she not upset about walking away from her fated mate? Am I that terrible? There’s no one she’d be safer with. I’d set the world on fire to keep her warm and watch it burn with a smile on my face. Why hasn’t she gone looking for me to tell me that she made a mistake? I guess it doesn’t matter either way, because she doesn’t have a choice.
