He frowned. “With you being an Omega female? It’s scary, Bonnie. I’ve never been more scared.” He stepped closer until he was bracketing my body between his chest and Courtland’s. “With you making sweaty crazy love with our Alpha and our Omega? No. I’m cool with that. Next time it’ll be my turn.” I felt his low chuckle against the side of my neck, where he nipped at the sensitive skin. “No mating marks until we can all be together though,” he warned me, or maybe Courtland.

Courtland grabbed his chin. “I promise, Beta. Not until we are all together, all ready to be a Pack.” His eyes drifted over to Pryce. “There is no rush, despite the new circumstances.”

This was fucking nuts. “I need… a shower.”

Despite the fact my uterus had decided to declare war, my temperature was rising and my vagina was about to pull a triple combo move and scream “FINISH HIM!”, I needed space to think, to breathe, to process. Plus, I smelled like a three-day-old corn chip left down the side of the couch cushion, and as much as they were looking at me like I was a freshly baked cookie, I wasn’t comfortable letting anyone go to town until I’d scrubbed away four days of lying in a flipping coma.

They all jumped up, moving out of the way so I could get to the hall bathroom. Leaving my nest—and there was no doubt in my mind that's what they’d created me—was like physically ripping off a band-aid. I didn’t want to leave, even hesitated at the door, and if I had any doubt about their claims that I was an Omega, they disappeared then and there.

I gritted my teeth, and by pure stubbornness I made it to the bathroom, locking the door. I threw on the shower as my body cramped and my emotions went insane. I hated that they weren’t in the room with me, hated that Pryce wasn’t on his knees in front of me, or fucking me, and it shook me to my core. Like I’d become possessed or something.

I stepped into the shower before it was even warm, hissing at the cold water that poured over my skin. Slowly, I made the water warmer, scrubbing myself on weak limbs. I was just out of a damn coma. I shouldn’t be thinking about sex. I should be thinking about getting my strength back or something. But my Beast, my new Omega Beast, felt like She-Hulk. She was raging to get to Pryce, with his long, lean physique, and those big blue eyes. I’d seen him shirtless more times than I can count, and every single time I’d wanted to run my tongue from his navel, up through his six pack. And Courtland…

My abdomen clenched, and the deep ache was almost like period pain, if my period was like an anvil to the gut. I’d need to put up with a whole week of this?

Yeah, no, that wasn’t going to happen. As another wave hit me like a punch, I slumped to the shower floor with a yell. Courtland was there, bursting through the locked door before my screech had even stopped. “Bonnie? Are you okay? Omega?” he growled, like I was supposed to answer in the breaths between words.

From my knees, curled in a ball, I looked up at this man who I wanted to consume me. “Fuck me, Alpha. Make this go away.”

He bent down and scooped me out of the shower. “I’ve got you, Bonnie.”

Radic’s phone call had been like a weight off my chest. “She’s awake and she’s fine. Freaked all the way out, but she’s okay.”

I wanted to race home, to bury myself against the soft curves of her body and make love to her until she was begging for mercy, because she’d scared the shit out of me.

Instead, I was stuck patrolling the streets in wolf form, making sure these fuckers kept their shit together. Every one of the families had been notified, and had closed ranks around the still waking new Omega females. A super pissed off Gatlin was patrolling with me, and I could legitimately smell his disgruntlement like an acrid smell in my snout.

“Get the fuck in your house, Emmitt, or I swear I will make you. I don’t care if you’re lonely, or if your dick gets so hard it falls off. You know where my dick should be right now?Do you, Emmitt?” he growled at one of the Manix who’d been trying to sneak out his window like a horny Doberman. Gatlin was not playing around, and I let out a wolfy laugh.

I lifted my head as I caught a smell on the breeze. It was sweet, even to my shifted senses, and Gatlin went ramrod straight. And Emmitt? Well, he went nuts. Like livin’ la vida loca cray cray. He launched himself at Gatlin with snapping jaws, and I pounced toward them, snapping my teeth and growling.

But this guy wasn’t scared of my teeth or Gatlin’s serious fuck off vibes. He’d lost it. Oh shit, we were in trouble. I shifted back to a man as Emmitt grabbed Gatlin, flailing like a crackhead on a binge.

I grabbed the gun from Gatlin’s waist and shot Emmitt. The guy went down like a heap of shit, and Gatlin whirled on me.

I grinned. “Don’t stress, Alpha. Tranqs. It’ll keep him out for a bit, anyway.”

“Fucking Goddess. Does Finlo have one of those?”

I shook my head. “Nah, he has Loren. He’s worth a hundred tranq guns.” We dragged Emmitt back into his house, shutting the door. “Doc says that will knock them out for twelve hours or so without many side effects. I’ll stop back and check on him later anyway.” I chuckled. “This could be fun.”

Gatlin nodded, but then slid me the side eye. “Are you going to cover your dick, or are we kicking ass with your balls swinging in the breeze?”

I shifted back to the wolf and gave him a toothy grin, my tongue lolling slightly. I trotted into the darkness, but barely made it a hundred feet when another Manix was raging out of his house, his face lifted to the air and a wild look in his eyes.

Fuck, this wasn’t going to work. I growled at the giant Manix who stood in front of me, and while his power wasn’t anything close to Courtland’s, or even Gatlin’s behind me, he was more than a match for me and that burned. My growl turned vicious, but the guy kept squaring off with me, his own lips pulled back over sharp teeth. Then a dart came from nowhere and the big Manix went down, his head hitting the pavement with a thud. He’d have a headache, but no permanent damage.

Good. Asshole.

I changed back. “This isn’t going to work. There's not enough of us.”

Gatlin nodded. He was distracted by the perfume of unmated Omegas in the air, I could tell that, but he wasn't consumed with mindless need. “We need to move the Omegas to a central point and defend that.”

“Safest place is the cells below the Legion building.”
