“I know it will be, honey.”

As they laugh together, Maeve cuts a glance at me and smiles. I let out a quiet breath of relief and smile back at her. I tip her a wink and take a drink of my wine. The girl’s quick thinking got us out of an awkward situation. Of course, it also put us smack dab in the middle of another one since I’m pretty sure neither one of us knows fuck all about preparing her mother’s Thanksgiving meal.

Bloody fucking hell.

MAEVE

Iwoke up to a text from my dad telling me he had to go into the office. Because of course he did. My dad really needs to learn to relax. Better, he needs to hire some people to help run the company so he can go and take a vacation, like Myles suggested. And maybe, he can find love again too. I hate seeing him all alone. And when he tells me he’s happy, I don’t believe him. Not entirely. I can see the emptiness in him sometimes and it breaks my heart.

Sliding out of bed, I hear a splash in the pool. Stepping to my window, I pull the curtain aside slightly and peer into the backyard. My breath catches in my throat as I see Myles climbing out of the pool. My eyes traverse the hard angles and planes of his body and I feel a quiver low inside of me as I watch the muscles in his arms and legs flex.

While I stand there watching, Myles dives back into the pool and starts to do some laps. The heat between my legs is growing unbearably intense and the insides of my thighs are slick once more. Not even getting myself off half a dozen times last night has quenched the fire burning inside of me for him. All thatteasing yesterday just has me in a state. And it makes me want to try something even more with him.

Grinning to myself, I put on a two-piece bathing suit, white with little red cherries on it, then pull my hair back into a ponytail. After a quick glance in the mirror, I grab my robe and a towel, then head downstairs, hurrying to make sure I get to the pool before he gets out.

He’s just finishing a lap as I walk out and stands in the shallow end looking up at me. I can see him battling with himself, doing his best to keep from gawking at me with that same lust in his face I saw yesterday. It’s a battle I see him losing though. Feeling emboldened and more courageous than I think I ever have before, I flash him a wide smile.

“Hey, good morning,” he says.

“Good morning, I respond.

“Hope you don’t mind,” he says. “I just wanted to get a few laps in this morning.”

“I don’t mind at all. I hope you don’t mind some company.”

“I, uhh… no. Not at all.”

“Thanks.”

I step to the small staircase at the edge of the pool and move slowly, giving Myles time to drink me in. And just the way he stares at me, the way his eyes slide up and down my body, makes me quiver. I’ve never had a man look at me the way he does and I’m dripping wet by the time I hit the water.

“So, that was pretty quick thinking last night,” he says. “About Thanksgiving dinner.”

“Thanks. I thought so.”

“But how are we going to pull this off?”

“We’ll figure it out,” I tell him. “But right now, we need to figure something else out.”

“What’s that?”

“Us,” I say. “You can’t tell me you didn’t feel something yesterday.”

“Maeve—”

I don’t give him time to finish his sentence. Instead, I cross the pool and throw myself into him, sliding my arms around the back of his neck and press my mouth to his. Myles is hesitant but he opens his mouth and slides his tongue past my teeth. As he leans into my kiss, my body explodes with sensation. I feel like a live wire. And as he swirls his tongue around mine languidly, I slide my hand down his body, sliding it into his swim trunks, and grab his long, rock hard cock.

Myles gasps, his body stiffening and his eyes fly open as if he realizes what he’s doing. He tries to pull away, but I tighten my hand around his shaft, squeezing it and start to pump my hand up and down, jacking him off.

“Bloody hell,” he mutters.

“I want this, Daddy,” I whisper. “I’ve wanted this for so long.”

“Maeve, we can’t?—”

“We can. I’m all grown up now, Myles. You said so yourself.”
