She snorted and crossed her hands in front of her healthy breasts. Roqs is very fond of them. I don’t know why he’s fixated on a female’s breast. But hers are nice to touch and they make me hard just looking at them. I noticed the tips were pointed. But when she shivered, I realized she’s cold.
I grabbed my coat and placed it around her. She looked startled then murmured her thanks. Might as well finish the story so we can go back.
“The thing about our planet is that the rocks here can form crystals. This is the only planet that is capable of that. Many scientists from other planets have come here to study them but can’t seem to pinpoint why they grow like a fungus. Others tried to replicate but we knew it is the materials in our soil, having two suns and five moons, had an impact to growing crystals on our planet.”
“What’s the most special crystal you’ve handled?”
She’s so full of curiosity. My Brin. I wonder if she is a scientist from where she came from.
“I think it’s fair that you must know the black crystal I have?” She nodded. She knew about it when I showed it to Axad’s parents and Roqs.
I dare not bring it out right now because there are spies everywhere. Even though Crix will say he trusts everyone in his domain, he can’t guarantee that a spy can come in or someone will betray him.
“That black crystal is a relic. It has the same power as the Shura in Kilo’s gang. Though the one I have remains to be tested, usually the black crystals are rare and should be tested under regulated conditions. Many manasties have died when they test it out in the open. It resonates to different people. Some will be drawn to it. Others will be repelled. Like you and me, we are not affected by it. However, I saw how it affected the Blue Tribe’s alphas. Yes, you might not have noticed it. But it was affecting them. It could be that this black crystal can be controlled by the Blue Tribe.”
“How exactly does a crystal work?”
I stood up and held my hand out. She automatically took my hand and helped her stand. I took out one of the brown crystals on my belt. Better to demonstrate.
I held the crystal out, placed it in its receptor and pointed out towards the lake. Soon enough, water on the lake near us started to boil. I saw how her eyes went large. She looked amazed. “How does your kind boil water?”
She looked up and shrugged her shoulders. “We place the water in a pot and put it over a fire. We burn gasoline or wood to create fire.”
I grumbled. “For someone with a red blood, you sure know how to kill yourselves. Burning wood and gasoline, yes I know about it because our forefathers used it as well, almost doomed our planet. It’s a good thing someone discovered the use of the crystals after we almost exhausted all the carbon and oil deposits in our land.”
“You don’t have fire here?”
“We do. But we always try to put it out immediately. And the fires are started now because of crystal power. Here.” She gingerly took the brown crystal from me. I softly molded her delicate hands to hold it properly. Besides, I’m curious. Still holding her hand, we pointed the crystal towards the lake. I made her press it harder and waited.
Nothing happened.
“Is it defective? Have you used all its powers?”
I’m amazed of her thinking skills. Well, maybe I’m too harsh on her because she looked like she came from a primitive planet.
“It’s not defective. It has limitless power that’s why we use crystals. When it cracks and turn to dust, that’s when it loses its powers. The size and shape can also be changed to maximize its power potential.”
She tried to use the crystal, pressing the button carved there. Other times she pressed it longer.
I took it from her and I was able to use it.
She frowned.
I smiled a little. “I think I know what your super power is.”
“You do?” I can see the doubt on the lines of her forehead.
“You’re a dud.”
She froze for a second then started hitting me with her tiny hands.
“I’m not a dud!”
I laughed out loud while I took the hits from her punches which doesn’t hurt at all. Plus, she’s trying to hit me while holding on to the coat I gave her. That’s when Roqs found us.He said he had to take care of an urgent call earlier.
He looked sad and happy at the same time. I felt that pinch in my heart again. Why can’t the universe make him my mate? We haven’t talked about what happened yesterday. How I lashed out at him, defending Brin.
“So, this is where you guys have been.” He folded his arms in front of him.
