“Why, what? What’s wrong the water?”
I can see the tic on his jaw and see his arms contract. He looks as if he is trying to prevent himself from throwing me in the water or strangling me.
“I do not know what you did to Zirc and Roqs but I don’t see anything intelligent about you.”
“Look, I don’t know what your problem is and you’re not even telling me what’s wrong,” I shouted back at him. “You don’t even introduce yourself when clearly you know me.”
“Most people don’t know my name.”
“Well,” I said haughtily. I straightened my back and tried to appear taller. “I’m not fascinated enough to even know your name.” And with that, I tried to walk away from him but he caught my arm.
I twisted my arm and stepped away from him. His eyes widen. Ha, I bet he did not expect that from a ‘dumb’ person.
Internally I’m doing my happy dance. My last boyfriend was paranoid enough to teach me some basic defensive moves.
He moved towards me, slowly this time.
“I’m taking you back to the house,” he declared. He moved fast this time, I did not see his hand wrap around my elbow.
I tried to shake him off. “No, you will not! I don’t even know you!” I used my other arm to try to free myself.Used my dead weight to throw his balance off.
He just grunted. Even with his size, he has strength. I couldn’t shake him off. So I resorted to kicking him instead.
He growled loudly at me. Not that strong like Zirc. But it was loud enough to make me pause and look up at his face.
He looked more pissed off. I can see some of his fangs.
“There’s plenty more where that came from,” I shouted at his face, hiding my fear. He has very sharp teeth. “So let go of me before I do more damage to you!”
He took my other elbow, we are now close enough my heaving chest is brushing against his. This close, I can see his eyes are golden brown with small yellow dots near his iris. He is holding me so tight I know I will have some bruises later. Then I saw his face blanked. I don’t know what’s happening to him because he suddenly let go of my elbows and turned his back to me. I saw his shoulders shaking.
I straightened and slowly back away from him. Looking at his back, he has a short and bushy tail. Makes me kind of sad for him that someone or something cut off his tail.
When he bend forward a little, still with his shoulders shaking, I realized something. True enough, when he faced me again, he was trying hard not to laugh. He might have seen something in my face because he started to laugh out loud and straight from his belly.
The nerve of this guy!
I turned an about face and collided with Zirc. At my back, I can still hear the other guy laughing.What was so funny?
Zirc must had seen something on my face because he asked, “Did he hurt you?”
I rolled my eyes at him.
“Oy!” the guy at my back called out. “You should ask me if that thing hurt me.”
What?
I turned around and glared at him. He seems to be getting over his giggles.Most likely at my expense.
“I don't know,” Zirc rumbled behind me. I am not surprised anymore when he pulled me back towards him, his arm around my waist. Well, more like below my breast. His tail caressing my right leg.
“You looked like you got a bad load of laughing gas from the stores.”
The guy looked aghast. “What, that was ages ago! You haven’t forgotten that incident?”
Looks like Zirc had not. He cleared his throat. “What did you do to her?”
The other guy smirked. “You mean what she did! Damn it Zirc. You should have told this - this.”
