Looking at her makes my eyes bleed. She’s wearing white! How does Roqs expect her to travel in this sector wearing white? A few days more and he’s sure that it will be tainted by blood. They probably travelled through the forest, atop the trees to escape detection. Looking at my friend closely, I could see he looks haggard. I could tell because I knew him but others would see him fresh as asolflower ready to kill. He probably carried her most of the way at his back. His gut tightened knowing the bastard probably felt a lot of her the way her clothes hugged her curves. And her chest. He could see some sort of cleavage that is known to other female species of other kinds. He had seen those when he visited other planets. But never had his blood boil in his veins looking at her. He had never touched a female. Their voices make his ears bleed. He only touched a female once in his lifetime in his youth and he never repeated it again.

“Hey, eyes up here,” the female said while she placed her arms across her chest. If she thinks she’s covering herself, it all made that cleavage much more appealing to him.

Looking up to her small face, she could see her eyes stopped leaking. Her lips are a thin line and she looked mutinous. He imagined a furball hissing at him. It took willpower to prevent a smile. Roqs, knowing the danger had passed, positioned himself near her. He had that all knowing smirk. Probably felt the same way I did.

Instead of addressing her, I looked at Roqs. I did not miss the way she almost hissed at me. Almost.

“We need to go. He is probably on his way by now.”

By he, I meant our spy member. We need to know what is killing the minor tribes. And who is behind them. Though the Purple Tribe are still acting high and mighty behind their fortress of stone, they are not immune to what is killing the other tribes. We fear that it will spread to other areas as well. We are on our way to Rux’s Sector. The area is risky and rife with gang wars. It is no place for a female.

Roqs just shook his head. Fuck, we can’t bring the female. I tried to communicate with him, narrowing my eyes.

“Give it up Zirc,” Roqs said, shaking his head a little and languidly walked towards the bed. He sat abruptly on the bed but given the adequate room, he was able to reach the female’s arm. Brin. Her name is Brin.

I saw her visibly stiffened. She does seem smart, able to read subtle body language. This should be interesting. Ever since I entered this room, I noticed she is not in heat. Will it come again? The one we had was out of this planet to the point I do not want to let go of her. That is why I decided to leave her. She cannot be the reason why I will fail my mission. There are many warm bodies like her that I will meet in my lifetime. I have many lovers. She does not possess anything that will make me want to keep her.

Her tears. A voice in my mind whispered. The beast side of me is normally aligned with me. The beast rarely disagrees with the manasty side of me. Why does the beast crave her tears? Were those tears? Tears are normal for babies born in this world. We have tear ducts that close up when we reach ten years old. I have heard other alien life forms who had tears. And they told us, Manasties, that we are cold blooded animals. Which suits our purpose just fine.

Though her left arm is held by Roqs, her eyes are drawn to me that stirred my loins. Her eyes widened when I let go of my weapons harness and stripped my vest.

I was not surprised when Roqs began to croon when she tried to break free from his grip. Soothing her like a first-time lad about to be breached. We had initiated many young lads in our youth. We do not force them unlike other Manasties who find pleasure in rape. It is a pity that try as we might, Roqs is not my mate even if I felt a strong bond with him. He had been my childhood friend, brother-in-arms, lover and Alpha of my tribe. Though the Alpha status should have been mine, I felt betrayed by my tribe. They killed my fathers.

“Come and help me, Zirc.” Though his voice is mild, when I look into his eyes, they are fierce. Why can’t he not be my mate when he seemed to read my mind? He knew when my thoughts turned black. Or is it because he is the Alpha?

Roqs does not need any helping taming the female. Taming Brin. Yet, I found myself walking towards her in a few short strides. “Relax, female. Roqs will not harm you.”

“No,” her voice firm. “I do not want to relax. I want answers! Who are you people? What do you want from me? Can you send me back?” Her voice cracked at the end.

I took her other arm, found myself circling my thumb on her wrist. When I first saw her, her skin was so pale, like a wraith. A ghost. Some parts of her were red and bleeding. Now, her skin is darker but still light compared to our skin. Her wounds have closed up. It seems her kind is not prone to diseases.

“Hush female,” urging her to stop struggling. I can feel the sexual tension in the air. Roqs, surprisingly, the most aggressive between us when it comes to sex, is waiting for my lead.

Yet she kept struggling. There is fear but I can smell her arousal as well.

“Brin.”

That seemed to stop her movement. She was surprised I called her name. Taking the opportunity, I leaned closer and smelled the side of her neck. What is interesting about her, she has no strong body odor to call her own. She takes the smell of another male with her. She smelled like freshly cut weeds. She smells like Roqs.

I want her to smell like me.

I took hold of her waist, then ran my hands up and down the sides of her body. Already, I can smell that enticing smell that seems to be a part of her. She smells like the oceans. Like water vapor rising from the heat of the suns. Her body is probably made up of too much water for her to smell like this.

I took hold of the latch of her makeshift tunic.

“Don’t,” she whispered almost silently. It sounded like a plea. To both release her or please her. It only makes me harder for her. Already, I can feel my cock weeping against my breeches.

Then, all of a sudden, I heard a gurgling sound, and I felt the sound come from her stomach.

Without letting her go, I looked and narrowed my eyes at Roqs.

“You did not feed her?”

Roqs had the gall to look slightly embarrassed. He let go of Brin’s arm and scratched the side of his jaw. A tell-tale sign that he is about to lie, or he’s caught embarrassed.

“I wanted to reach you on time. I know you will leave by tomorrow, so I do not want to miss you.”

Clenching my jaw hard, I looked away from Roqs and saw the top of Brin’s head. I raised her face with my finger. Her face is so red.
