“The heavens gave me a gift!” the gruff guy shouted. “Ah Nialla, come here and take a look. Bring that stunner with you. You might need it.”

I heard Nialla scoff at him.

Chucking, he added, “We found a real bounty. I wonder how the Silver Tribe will react if I kill them?”

“Silver tribe?” the woman sounded intrigued. There’s even a purr in her voice. But I noticed that her voice is lower. If I had not seen her, I would think she’s a young man. She walked towards us. Confidence in her every step. She might have realized something because one moment, she’s too far, the next, she’s near the table. Side to side with the gruff voice. So fast like that Roan guy.

I heard her sharp intake of breath.

The gruff guy sounded smug. “What did I tell you? I knew someday we’ll land us a rich bounty and it is right here. In front of us. Roqs, the esteemed Alpha of Silver Tribe. I wager those old maggots will turn over their prized crystals to have him back.”

Roqs, an Alpha?

But it seems like Nialla is not interested in Roqs because she stepped toward Zirc, her thigh touching his. And from my position, I can see her tail, tinted purple, circling around his thigh. I stiffened. Either that or I rip her tail out.

I controlled myself. Now is not the right time to analyze my body’s reaction. I need to stay calm and think. And listen because the enemies think no one can move so they are talking.

“The tribe does not care one fuck about them, Kilo. But this one,’ she purred deeply again. “This one I want to keep.”

Her tail is now brushing back and forth right in front of Zirc’s thigh.

“I doubt you can keep him sedated long enough to enjoy him, Nialla,” Kilo said. “I know you want them fighting you tooth, tail and claws. But I doubt you can subdue him. Zirc is not a mercenary you can tame.”

“I know how to tame him.” Nialla continued to stroke his groin with her tail.

“No, I don’t think you know him,” Kilo stood beside Nialla, both of them crowding Zirc. He is plastered to her back, I can see his tail going inside her cloak. I do not need x-ray vision to know what he’s doing to her.

“Let me tell you something about him while I know what you’re doing to him under this table,” he whispered. “You do not want him for an enemy.”

“High praises for you,” she huskily said. Whatever he’s doing to her, it’s turning her on. I checked. Good to know that Zirc is not turned on byheror maybe because he’s still frozen? It is most likely they have a device that can render them immobile.

“Yes, high praises for me indeed. The reason why you do not want him for an enemy is because there is no one breathing today that can say he’s their enemy. He kills his witnesses and enemies, Nialla, and leaves no body to bury. Or whatever is left of them is not fit to be buried.”

I tried to absorb this fact and scolded myself thinking Zirc is harmless. Good to know his muscles are not just for display.

“And yet he is not a wanted man?”

“Yes, amazing, isn’t it? That he can get away with manslaughter right in front of those old maggots. Either they are afraid of him or they see him as a righteous beast. That is why I don’t like him.” He released his tail and moved the hand I could see inside Nialla’s cloak.

“Why is that so?”

“He has the alpha gene.”

“Ah, so he is mated to this alpha?”

“No, they are not mates. Though they fuck harder to make that a reality. Many said they are not true mates. There is something wrong about him.”

Is he referring to Zirc or Roqs?

“Now you just want me to like him more.”

“He can break you Nialla. And I will not be there to pick up the pieces.”

Nialla let out a booming laugh. “He does not know mem Kilo. You and I both know the things I can do.” She is purring.

“Yes, I know. Let me show you my appreciation.”

By now, Nialla’s cloak is on the floor. The front of her pants open. What the?
