I probably looked like an enragedRakon. Roqs always tease me that I look like aRakonwhen I’m like this. But my tribe knows I am scary looking when I am enraged. ARakonbeast can wipe out an entire tribe when it is angry, especially when we kill one of its kin for their hide and meat.
I tried to control myself but was not successful in grumbling. Surprisingly, it made the female neko cat relaxed a bit. Interesting. Others would still cower and hide.
I pulled my arm away from Roqs. I do not need his help in dealing with this.
“You can speak our language now?” I queried mildly. Roqs knows I am still on a bit of an edge because my voice is lower. Probably why he’s still behind my back.
She nodded, sending her tangled curls bouncing her shoulders. I do not know why I had a sudden urge to touch her hair.
“How?”
She cleared her throat and looked a little to my left. I knew then that Roqs had something to do with it but I want her to explain. Roqs knew that about me, so he did not speak up.
Realizing, she continued. “He,” pointing behind my back with her right hand, “did something to my head.” Still using her right hand, she reached behind her neck, wincing a little.
I clenched my fists. She stiffened when she saw that so I tried to relax myself again. Roqs better not hurt her in the process.
“He said that someone did a poor job of batching the language codes in my head. So he fixed it and now I can understand your language.”
It’s on the tip of my tongue to ask if the procedure hurts. But that is out of character for me. I do not care about anyone or anything except for the mission, my tribe, my circle, and Roqs. I mostly live for the mission.
Focusing on that, I placed my arms in front of me. “Who are you and where did you come from?”
She sighed. Yes, I can probably tell Roqs grilled her with these questions already.
“My name is Brynn.”
I nod as an acknowledgement.
“I came from Earth.”
“Earth?”
“Yes, it’s the planet where I came from. Someone or some alien abducted me from my home planet and now I am here.”
“Do you know the race of the people who abducted you?”
She signalled no, sending more curls bouncing her shoulder. It’s fascinating, not just her hair, but her body language is similar to our tribe.
“Do you know this planet?”
Her eyes looked like it would shower with water again. There are some already gathering.
“No,” she answered, still looking straight into my eyes. “My people do not even know how to travel the universe.”
Water spilled from her eyes again. For some reason, it made me move forward and braced the back of her neck with my hand then started to lick the water off her face. It made her produce more water. Her tears taste so much like pure water from the deepest part of an underground cave.
I licked both her cheeks. I belatedly felt the small arms surrounding my waist as she held on. More water leaked from her eyes and I’m all up for tasting.
“How does it taste?”
I felt Roqs’ breath at the back of my right ear. It’s as if he wanted to taste her himself. Belatedly, I realized that she does not show this side of her to Roqs. I do not want to analyze what I am feeling right now.
Immediately, I let go of her. Putting some distance between us. Is it possible she’s influencing how I feel?
“Hey, easy there,” Roqs said as he held her arm. I need to think logically. I am not known for being this emotional.
She seemed at a loss, but her eyes were still focused on me. The distance helped. I can now see that she’s wearing new clothes, clothes better styled for Nekos. It is actually stylish. The length stops about three inches from her knee, making her legs longer, though she’s still too short. I am sure I am more than a foot taller than her.Makes her easy to submit, my beast whisper. I pulled a stop to that.
