“Don’t go anywhere. I’ll be back later today,” he said slowly as if I’m deaf.

“I got it Roqs. Go wherever you need to go. Will you meet up with Zirc?”

“This is what I’m about to find out.”

“Oh.” He is going to meet with Zirc. “Maybe I can go with you - “

“- No,” he cut in. “I don’t know yet if it’s him or not. Better I do not lose you in this town. There are others who will abduct you. Again.”

I sighed. Is this how my life is going to be? Dependent on other people? “Okay. I’ll stay put.”

He paused looking at my face. Probably to see if I’m sincere or not. Satisfied, he went out. Locking the door behind him.

Then the door opened again.

“You forgot something?”

Instead of going to the bags, he went to me. To my shock, he firmly grabbed my upper arms and rubbed his face on my neck.

“What the - “ I started to protest then felt him rubbing his face against my hair, my chest!

“Get off me,” I snarled, trying to push his chest. It’s like pushing a huge boulder.

He chuckled and looked at me. I wish he will let me go so I can take a shot at him.

“I like how you protest, little one. It’s cute.” Then he let me go. I balanced myself as he said, “Your scent on me will drive Zirc crazy.”

With that, he’s gone again. I heard him running down the stairs.

“Argh,” I screamed into the room.

I have enough of him and Zirc calling me little one. It’s not like I’m the smallest creature on this planet. I saw others who are much smaller than me.

I smelled myself. What scent? I can almost smell Roqs’ scent on me. Like cinnamon and a spicy smell to it that is almost similar to Zirc’s but still not quite. They both have this salty smell on them. Or maybe because of their water?

I looked at the open toilet. Might as well take a shower again and feel clean after puking earlier.

Chapter Seven

Zirc

Isat drinking my beer. It’s already late in the afternoon. I positioned myself near the windows, the wall at my back. We agreed to meet here before I head on and meet my team. No sign of my old friend. I need him to drive away the demons of this past week. I snorted. More like ten days. I am not sleeping at all. I know I looked like hell. No one is seated near my section.

I gulped another shot of my drink and poured some more. I can handle my alcohol, just like any adult Manastian on the planet. Unfortunately, it could not erase the female’s image from my mind. I am a coward. I could not even look at her face as I left. Her cries though. Her cries plague me.

I will kill him when I see him. This too much idle time is making me think of useless things.

“Another bottle for you, my friend?”

I knew without looking up that it was the server again. I once scratched that itch with him a long time ago but I am not interested. The only thing I am interested in is miles away from here.

Fuck.

Cursing my friend some more, I looked up and watched the server. He is actually quite attractive for a Manasty. His coloring though is what probably made him work in this dump. He is a cross between the Blue and Purple tribes. Each tribe revels in being a pureblood. More so for the Blue and Purple tribes. Others are tolerant, like my tribe, and do not care much for cross breeds like him.

I looked him in the eye and was about to say yes when I smelledhim.

The next thing I knew, I had him on the wall, my arm pinning him at his neck.
