I bring my lips to his ear and whisper, “I love you, Oliver.”
He strokes my face and gives me a smile that sends a shock of electricity through my body. “I love you, too, Catherine.”
I give him one last deep kiss, then ride him slowly. He lets me take control, and I enjoy the feeling of being in control of our pleasure.
I ride him hard, needing to feel the sensation building in my body. This time, the wave of a climax overcomes us both.
He looks at me with a smile, and in that moment, I know I want to spend the rest of my life with him. Nothing else matters but him. He’s everything I’ve ever wanted, and I never imagined I could love someone so much.
All of my doubts about ever truly being happy with anyone disappear as I look deep into his eyes and show him everything I’m feeling.
I can see a world of passion and love in his eyes, and I know we’ll be happy together.
Epilogue
Oliver
Three Years Later
“Oliver, are we almost ready to light the candles on the cake?” Catherine asks, crossing over to me from the refreshments table.
It’s Catherine’s twenty-sixth birthday, and we’re in the middle of throwing her a party in our backyard.
I smile at her and wrap an arm around her waist, pulling her close. “Fred and Erica still haven’t gotten here,” I point out.
Catherine frowns. “Should they even come? They just got off their plane from the Bahamas.”
“Fred texted me and said their flight got delayed, but they’re on their way right now.”
Catherine sighs. “I hope they aren’t too tired when they get here, and can have a little fun.”
“They will,” I assure her, kissing her temple. “In the meantime, let’s enjoy ourselves.”
The party is in full swing, with family and friends mingling and laughing together. Alice is running around the yard with a few of her school friends and Grace’s grandkids. Catherine’s parents watching her lovingly playing as they stand beside Grace. I can’t help but feel content watching Catherine and Alice surrounded by so much love.
Just then, the gate swings open, and Fred and Erica appear. Everyone stops to greet them warmly, and they make their way through the yard until they reach us.
“Happy birthday, Catherine,” Erica sings the moment we open the door.
Catherine’s eyes light up when she sees them.
Fred holds out a gigantic bouquet of roses. “For you, madam.”
“Thank you so much,” she says, her voice full of joy.
Fred leans in and gives her a warm hug, followed by Erica.
Alice steps forward to greet them both, too. “Uncle Fred, Aunt Erica!”
Fred’s brows raise. “Uncle Fred? I’ve been begging you to call me that for years.”
I shoot him a wink. “Well, you finally earned the title.”
“Wow, you’re getting so huge!” Erica tells Catherine as soon as she eyes her baby bump.
Catherine laughs and rubs her hand over her belly. “Yes, this little one is growing fast.”
“We’re finding out the sex next week,” I inform them.
