“That you don’t intend on waiting until marriage anymore?”
Catherine blushes, her eyes flickering nervously over my face. “Yes,” she admits softly. “After some thought, I don’t see the point of waiting anymore.”
I huff. “Really?”
She nods, her hair falling in gentle waves around her face. “Really. I mean, why not enjoy the moment? Life is too short to wait for things that may never come.”
I grin, feeling an electric attraction sparking between us. “I couldn’t agree more,” I say, leaning in closer to her.
Our eyes lock, and I can feel the heat between us growing.
“Do you have any more questions you’d like to ask me? For a male’s perspective, of course.”
Catherine’s eyes light up with a mix of desire and curiosity. “Actually, there is,” she says, her voice barely above a whisper. “Have you ever been with someone like me before?”
I take a sip of my champagne, my gaze never leaving hers. “A virgin?”
She nods.
“No,” I admit honestly.
We remain silent as we contemplate the implications of my answer.
“Would you ever consider it?” she finally asks, her eyes searching mine.
I take a deep breath, knowing that this is not a decision to be made lightly. I have never been in this situation before, and I want to make sure that Catherine is aware of the consequences of her choice.
“I would,” I breathe. “But only if the woman I was with is certain that’s what she wanted. I wouldn’t want her to look back at her first time regretfully.”
“Why don’t you then?” she dares to ask. “It could be a lesson for us both.”
“It wouldn’t be just practice, Catherine,” I hiss.
“That’s fine with me,” she whispers back.
I can feel my heart racing as Catherine’s words sink in. There’s no going back now, I realize.
Just then, Erica approaches us. Her face is lit up with a delighted expression. She looks back and forth between us as if she’s trying to figure out our conversation.
“So, how’s it going over here?” she asks jokingly. “How’s the charade?”
Catherine and I turn to look at her, a blush spreading across my cheeks as I realize what we must look like. Catherine smiles back lightly, but does not answer.
“It’s going great,” I finally say. “We were just about to head home.”
I peer over at Catherine, hoping she knows that our conversation is far from over.
“Well, I hope you both have a wonderful night,” Erica says. “I’m going to stay.”
As Erica walks away, Catherine turns back to me, a wicked grin on her lips. “We’re headed home?”
I nod, slipping my arm around her waist and escorting her out of the hotel. “It’s better to leave early and avoid any more trouble.”
Catherine chuckles. “You’re no fun. I was hoping for a little of trouble with you.”
I chuckle, my hand gripping hers tightly. “Oh, you get plenty of trouble with me,” I say, and lead her to the valet.
